With Pride Month just two days away, we are committed to honoring and standing in solidarity with the LGBTQAI+ community. Pride is a time to celebrate and support those who are vulnerable and marginalized, empowering them to claim their rightful place in society, not just as individuals to be tolerated but to be celebrated. We are also pleased to offer a safe space for anyone seeking therapeutic support.

Survivors of trauma have the option to either perpetuate the cycle or forge a resolution by crafting a fresh narrative. This occurs when family members vocalize their experiences and actively address any past instances of hurt, pain, or abuse.
It would be our privilege at ATPWC to help you break free from harmful narratives. Please call or text us at 586-213-5505 or fill your info out at this link: https://intakeq.com/new/kogCUS

Day 5 of National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week:
The 2022 National Survey on Drug Use and Health found that 23% of responders over the age of 18 had any mental illness in the past year. This was as many as 59 million people. The survey found that 1 in 12 adults over the age of 18 have had both a mental illness and a substance use disorder in the past year.
Given that the survey also found that 17% of people over the age of 12 had a substance use disorder in the last year, it can be assumed that many of those 23% started having issues with mental health and substance use prior to their 18th birthday. Getting treatment for either early is one of the best indicators for later healthy management of both.
Day 4 of National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week:
Talking to teens about substance use can be difficult but it has been shown to be vital in helping teens make healthy, informed choices for themselves. The link below has the top 10 most frequently asked questions by teens and explanations to answer them.
One such question includes “what is the worst drug?” The National Institute on Drug Abuse starts their answer for this with “It’s only natural to want to know what’s best or worst, good or bad. That’s why we love these types of lists! But in the case of drugs and alcohol, there isn’t a “worst” just as there isn’t a “best” drug.”
Check out the link for more information to help start these vital conversations

March is commonly linked with St. Patrick's Day and the notion of being fortunate or "lucky."
Become one of the "lucky one's" in your relationship today by implementing a key Gottman principle: building a culture of appreciation and admiration. By consistently expressing gratitude and acknowledging the positive traits in your partner, you can fortify your connection and establish a bedrock of mutual respect.
