The Freedom House, New Jersey Family Afterward Program's Diane's House provides support, recovery housing, and case management services for women recovering from substance use and co-occurring disorders. The focus is on helping them reunite with their children and learn life skills to become self-sufficient.

"I’d been struggling with an addiction my entire adult life. I got clean again in 2019 and very shortly after that I left an abusive relationship and found out I was pregnant. The relationship was where I lived so I had nowhere to go. . . I was struggling with the decision of whether or not to put my daughter up for adoption, because I didn’t think that I was going to be able to provide her the life that she deserved. But because of Diane’s house I now have my own apartment, a job I’ve been in for almost 2 years, and I am a full-time parent to my daughter. I think it’s just so important for people to know that sometimes in life people just need help and without the help that this foundation gave me I don’t know if I would even have my daughter in my life today. So, thank you very much"

March 7, 2023 marks the Third Anniversay of the Egan House!

Opened at the height of the pandemic, Egan House in Morristown has provided a safe and supportive haven for men in recovery from substance abuse for three years. At the 15-bed program, our caring staff and peer support among the residents allows individuals to realize a sober and brighter future is possoble and within reach.
