Saint Peter Church family Welcomes our new pastor Father Michael Olivere!

We are excited to announce the appointment of Reverend Michael Olivere as our new pastor, beginning Monday, June 17, 2024. He will be available in the office all that week and serving his first Masses with us on the weekend of June 22-23. We are all excited to meet him!

Father Olivere has been a priest in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for 30 years. He comes to us from Saint Timothy parish after serving there for 10 years, and previously has served at Divine Mercy parish. He is eager to get started at Saint Peter and meet all our wonderful parishioners.

Father William Chiriaco will continue as our Pro Tem Administrator until Father Olivere has settled in full time. We want to thank Father Chiriaco for his exceptional service, spiritual guidance, and friendship during this challenging transition.

Let's continue to pray for all our priests as we walk together on this journey, helping each other grow spiritually closer to Christ.

Hello Saint Peter Parish Community,

This is a message from Ryan Morris: I am writing to inform you that I notified Father Fitzpatrick and parish leadership on January 14th that I would be transitioning out of my role at Saint Peter after many years of service to this amazing parish. God is now calling me to serve Him in another community closer to my home. My last day here will be this Thursday, February 8th.

My recent marriage & changes in my life have caused me to reflect on my vocational priorities. This is why I have decided to resign from my position at this time.

Serving Christ alongside this community has been one of the great joys of my life. Like many others, I briefly left the church after receiving my Confirmation, thinking that faith will never have any relevance in my life again. But I was WRONG and fortunately realized that relatively quickly. This parish community showed me that there is nothing more important in life than serving Jesus!

I just want to say thank you! Thank you for all of the great memories and for your witness of faith every day! I pray that you may continue to be strengthened in your faith and your love for Jesus.

This excerpt from 1 Corinthians really sums up how weak we are and how great God is in the context of evangelization and our call to be missionary disciples:

“When I came to you, brothers, proclaiming the mystery of God, I did not come with sublimity of words or of wisdom. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear and much trembling, and my message and my proclamation were not with persuasive (words of) wisdom, but with a demonstration of spirit and power, so that your faith might rest not on human wisdom but on the power of God” (1 Corinthians 2 1:5).

May you rest in the power of our God. Come Holy Spirit!

Ryan Morris

There was a lot of amazing and delicious food, great conversations and lots of women making lasting friends. Sister Sheila Galligan was our speaker. She was amazing. Last Saturday we celebrated our 60th Anniversary as a parish with a wonderful Mass and amazing dinner. Thank you to everyone who helped organize this night!

The 60th Anniversary hosted for the last two weekends tickets for Basket Raffles. It was a fun event with over 100 winners but more importantly, we came together to raise money that will support two wonderful ministries in our parish community. It was a huge success and everyone had fun picking their winning tickets.

We would like to thank the parishioners of St. Peter for their kindness and generosity and coming out to purchase tickets. It was because of your help either donating a basket or two, or an item to create a basket, we thank you. We also would like to thank the different business of Chester, Lancaster, Berks and surrounding areas, along with Father Fitzpatrick and his staff, the 60th Anniversary Committee and their families, plus the people behind the scenes, helping to set-up, break-down and set-up again, it takes teamwork.

There are too many people to thank, but we appreciate all your help in whatever part you played. We thank you all! Now on to the next fun event, our 60th Anniversary Dinner on June 3, 2023. I hope you brought your ticket! We look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you again!
