We have a couple of events coming up that we'd like to share. On next Wednesday, the American Red Cross will host a blood drive on our campus. We currently have 3 BSW Seniors completing their field practicum at the agency this semester. They are very excited about promoting the event. If you are nearby next week drop by to donate blood...and say hello to our future professionals, Ms. Brown, Ms. Gray, and Ms. Harrison.

Join us this Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:30pm for an evening of poetry, fellowship, and fun. The "Our Voices Are Rising: Poetry at BC" poetry slam is open to all Benedict College students, faculty, and staff. This event is a precursor to the "Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges and Universities" documentary special screening that will be held at Swinton Center on Feb. 1st.

Road trip today with 16 students from the School of Health and Human Services (Social Work, Public Health, Sports Management, and Recreation) at the NACSW annual conference. Our very own, Dean Tanya Smith Brice, is speaking as today's plenary session presenter. Her topic: "Reconciliation Reconsidered: A Conversation About Race Among Christian Social Workers." Stay tuned, photos... and perhaps a live shot or two, are forthcoming.
