βοΈ Summer Welcome Leader Spotlight: Anna Thompson, Middle School Language Arts major
"I chose to do Summer Welcome because I want to be that resource for students. When I was in school, my teachers were always someone I could rely on and go to when I needed help. I want my students now and in the future to know that I am here for them no matter what."
βοΈ Summer Welcome Leader Spotlight: Lily Lewandowski, Elementary Education major
"Coming into Mizzou, I knew I wanted to leave a lasting impact that not only I would remember but my peers as well. Summer Welcome has made me realize I am here for a reason. I have been able to make a difference, introducing incoming students to the school that I love and call home. Being their leader, mentor, and resource makes my heart happy:) Becoming a Summer Welcome leader has taught me many lessons that I will carry with me into my future career in the classroom! I am so excited to continue this journey and see everyone on campus soon! M-I-Z!"
βοΈ Summer Welcome Leader Spotlight: Jaimes Donovan, Family & Lifespan Development and Psychology major
"Being a Summer Welcome Leader has not only taught me about the depth of the Mizzou experience as well as its history, but also that of human interaction and how consequential it can be to growing as a student, leader, friend, or individual. I believe Iβve grown in all these ways so far and canβt wait to take this growth to the next level through my education and career goals, not to mention all the relationships I've made along the way! GO TIGERS! π―"

Hi, my name is Kelsey Cockrum. I am a junior majoring in Special Education from Odessa, Missouri. Iβm excited to takeover the Instagram today while I'm studying abroad in Greece for the summer. Being a part of this program not only allows me to experience the culture of Greece and the Mediterranean, but Iβm also helping refugee and immigrant youth learn English through our work with several non-profit organizations. Besides being an education student, I am involved in Student Council for Exceptional Children and have been substitute teaching for about two years now. Iβm also an RA at Brooks Hall, participate in Athletes in Action, and am a welcome week leader. Iβm so excited to take you along with me on this adventure! Thanks for following along!
At Summer Welcome, new Tigers have a chance to tour Townsend Hall, make connections with faculty and staff, and explore opportunities for involvement.
