OMG! Anybody recognize this place? Remember the Aqua Circus? I remember we convinced my mother to volunteer for the pole battle! It was where you had this pool float you stood on and a long pole with like a boxing glove on the end, and you tried to knock an Aqua Circus employee off his float, kind of like American Gladiators. She was barely even able to hold the pole up! (It was 8-10 feet long and heavy) The guy toyed with her a little and then gently knocked her in. Still can’t believe she let us talk her into that! She did NOT want to do it, but we were really young and she was a good sport about it. Love and miss you, Mom!

It’s getting to be that time! How do you think we’re going to do this year?

Live Aid in Philly, 1985. All three stadiums no longer exist. It was at the Spectrum, when I was about 8 years old, that I tried to order my first beer. Thought the guy was selling soda. The whole section laughed at me. Embarrassing then, but I’m cool with it now. 😎

As a follow up to my earlier post showing the front of the art museum, this painting shows the back. It, as well as all the other paintings at Very’s, was painted by my mother. I remember her saying the red and blue house was either a frat or sorority house, and I think she said for Penn University. Anyone know if that’s correct?
