Ok after what seemed like an eternity I present to you the reason my shop went from a two man shop to a one man shop. Adeline Randi Knight, 9lbs 4oz. This little girl will be a world champ taxidermist. Watch and see. As some may know my wife works in the shop. Well my wife nicked her finger and it got infected. Went on antibiotics and here we are. The art of taxidermy is in her blood. Not to mention even her name is tied to taxidermy Iykyk.

When you’re in a taxidermy family you don’t need a bed (he has a perfectly good bed fyi) and yes that the dog’s paw in the corner (she’s alive) 🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Absolutely love it when a customer picks his mounts up then later sends you this! Grateful for my customers and them giving us the opportunity to do what we love.

Guys we have truly been blessed with the customers we have had. Again absolutely grateful. Recently we made a post about the enforcement of the terms and agreement on the invoice. This is the reason for that post. Customer dropped off a bird to be mounted was notified when it was ready for pickup (April 19). Here we are approximately 6 months later. And customer is again interested in picking up. However we are six months pass the original date of notification. Per the invoice/contract between consumer and contractor there’s a 30 day grace period from date of notification to make arrangements to pick up. However when this customer find out that he would be held accountable for his lack of he wanted to say that charging a fee is reasonable. If you left your car at a mechanic shop for six months what would happen? If you failed to get your car from the tow company for six months what would happen? Taxidermist are business owners too. We have bills just like any other business in any other industries. I’m not trying to bash this individual. I’m simply using this as an example to try to change the image of taxidermist.

PSA: I want to thank all my customers for their support and trust with their trophies.

In the past, we have been extremely relaxed on pickups. Furs N Spurs pickup policy will be strictly enforced; no exceptions. The pickup policy can be found on the contract customers sign when dropping off their trophy. Again, we have been extremely relaxed on this matter,, however this is a business; therefore it will be treated as such. A full list of terms and agreement can be found on the contract each and every customer signs at drop off. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but this is a business and will start to conducting as one. You cannot sign a contract agreeing to terms with any other company and not expect some form of penalty.

Also we will no longer answer inquiry texts/calls. Starting October 14, 2023 Furs N Spurs will log all customers into our database. From there, the customer can check the status of their mount through the online app “Trophy Tracker” using their phone number. This app can found on the website or by scanning the QRC code on the contract/work order.

Again we want to personally thank all our valued customers for their support and trust. We look forward to recreating memories y’all created in the field and on the lake.

So this past week was major for me. Something I have been trying to do for 5 years I finally got to do. I was blessed to go and spend a week working with the only three time world champion in whitetail taxidermy Gene Smith. I’ve been very fortunate to have made the bonds I have made thru taxidermy. Forever grateful for everyone who spent time with me to get me where I’m at; still a long ways to go but I’m getting there!

This made me smile today. Several months back I was contacted by a young man in school locally here. He told me he was doing a school project and and he choose his project to be taxidermy related. Said he always had a interest in taxidermy. He asked me if I could help with it. He explained to me he had harvested a squirrel and wanted to used it for his specimen. Young man came to my shop one evening and we mounted his squirrel. He did everything himself with my supervision except skin it. I did that. Never know what jounery taxidermy will take you down. Want to give thanks to Adam South he donated a portion of the materials.
