Missoula Children's Theater returns to Columbiana to lead the musical theater camp students to perform the musical, Gulliver's Travel. We are so excited to have this group back leading our students to learn this musical in just one week of camp. Please sign up your kiddo soon for this opportunity. Spots will go fast!

The camp will be Monday, June 10th-Friday, June 14th from 10:00am-2:30pm each day. The performnace will be on Saturday, June 15th at 4:00pm.

SAVE THE DATE! Discover Shelby Fest 2024 - October 12th, 11am-7pm

Discover Shelby Wine, Food, and Music Festival is held each year in Old Mill Square Park and expanding into Main Street in Downtown Columbiana. This is a FREE festival featuring outstanding music from a wide variety of musicians as well as local wineries from all over Central Alabama!

Discover Shelby Fest was created in partnership with Shelby County Tourism - “Discover Shelby” and the City of Columbiana to create a local festival in order to shine a spotlight on some of the splendid vineyards in Central Alabama. This annual fall wine and music festival features regional vineyards, food, and great music. Mark your calendars NOW and join us on October 12th for our 3rd Annual Discover Shelby Fest!

Sean of the South - THIS Sunday, June 9th @ 4pm

Join us for our next show in the summer "On Air" series! If you haven't seen Sean Dietrich in concert yet, this is a MUST for your summer plans!

Come enjoy a summer series of live-broadcast performances, featuring Sean Dietrich and friends—both respected and ill-famed. Each show will feature different guests and “fresh” stories from Sean.

Each performance will be recorded in the SONG Theater for future broadcast, featuring Sean and the gang, delivering a mix of humor, storytelling, and eclectic musical performances.

The audience will be part of the live recording. Be prepared to have fun, sing along, laugh, and above all, spend the summer among friends.

Thursdays, 4:00-5:00pm, ages 8-16

Learn about lines, shading, drawing perspectives, drawing from memory, lights and shadows, textures, and more.

All supplies are provided, however, students may bring their own sketching tools (tablet, sketching pencils, etc.) if they'd prefer.

Stained Glass Suncatcher Workshop - Saturday, June 8th, 10am-3pm

Join artist Margaret Hague for a fun afternoon creating a beautiful stained glass suncatcher! All materials will be provided. Register today!

Art Adventures - Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30, ages 5-11

Each month in the Art Adventures class, we learn about a new artist and the mediums they use to create their artwork. Students will spend each week learning about a new artwork by that artist and the process it took to create it. We then create a similar piece using the same medium of the artist. Mediums include: paper craft, watercolor, acrylic paint, clay, and more!

All supplies provided!

6- EBSCO Fine Art Gallery - We have had 5 beautiful exhibits in our EBSCO gallery this year and several other beautiful exhibits in our Grande Hall Corridor gallery. We are so blessed to be able to bring fine art to the Shelby County area with all of these beautiful pieces on display. Make plans to come visit our gallery for FREE in 2024!

As we countdown to Christmas, the Shelby County Arts Council would like to take a moment each day to celebrate 12 of the amazing things that happened in 2023! It has been a year filled with so many blessings, they are really too many to count.
Thanks to all of our amazing supporters for helping us make this such a special year as we continue in our mission to support, nurture, and promote the arts and cultural opportunities in Shelby County, Alabama.
