Shelby County High School Choir

The SCHS Choir department had a fantastic spring banquet Tuesday night! The students performed their SCPA music, awards were given, and seniors were honored. Also- we had the most DELICIOUS dinner graciously hosted by The First Baptist Church of Columbiana. ⭐️ Thank you again to all the students and parents for a fantastic year and to FBCC for being so generous with us, as always.

The Shelby County High School Show Choir performed this week at the Shelby County Senior Picnic and Spring Fling. The event hosts senior citizens from across the county and the Shelby County High School singers kicked off the festivities with songs from their 2024 show. We are proud of these students for serving their community.

NYC Day 4! We are all home safe and sound but I have one more day to highlight and one very big shoutout to give!!! Day 4 was travel day- so we checked out of the hotel and walked to Radio City Music Hall for some shopping and our backstage tour! We were able to meet a real Rockette (had a few tears) which was so cool! We shopped and ate a quick lunch before walking back to the hotel to get the bus to the airport! Fun facts: according to my watch-we all walked over 40 miles and climbed over 60 flights of stairs. So, if you found your body extra tired after our return- that could be why!!

We had a wonderful trip! Our kids behaved SO well and we were even complimented by our security team each night about what “angels” they were. 🤣 The parents worked together wonderfully to keep everyone on time and moving and overall we had a FANTASTIC trip.

✨A true highlight of our trip was being able to to work with Mike Brouwer. He was the tour guide that became family by the end of the trip and did an ⭐️INCREDIBLE⭐️ job of leading our group through subways tunnels, Times Square, financial district and more. He knew his stuff and was a joy to work with. We love you Mike! Thank you for all you did to make our trip the amazing experience it was! ✨

Day 3 of NYC! We FROZE OUR BUTTS OFF at the Statue of Liberty! Just needed the world to know how tough we are- because it felt like the teens with the windchill and we toughed it out and won with some amazing views of Lady Liberty and the Manhattan skyline. Next, we hit The Financial District and Hamilton’s grave, Wall Street, and then toured the 9/11 memorial museum. We had a little extra time in our day so a group of us wanted to get some extra steps and walked the Brooklyn Bridge-really a beautiful piece of architecture!! After that, we shopped in Chinatown and loaded up on all the “extremely real” name brand items so get ready, because we are so fancy now. 🤣 We ate dinner in Little Italy and spent some time in Times Square. Such a great day and I really think the kids have settled into city life. They are having a blast and I love seeing them thrive through this experience!

NYC day 2! Central Park, Rockefeller Plaza, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Grand Central Station, Broadway Workshop, Dinner at Gayle’s Broadway Rose and The Lion King on Broadway!! Action packed and not a minute to lose! We are having a great time and our students are representing our community wonderfully. I am so proud of them and their continuous display of southern hospitality wherever they go. 🌟

Best looking group of super tired people I have ever seen! 🧟🧟‍♀️ ✨We made it to NYC! ✨Day one was filled with lots of travel, Museum of Broadway, Empire State Building, shopping, and the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. Such a fabulous group and lots of great memories being made!!
