Meet Nikki, and a whole lotta rubber ducks.

Nikki is a former foster youth and has been an advocate for current and former foster youth since 2013. Her work has included shutting down an abusive residential facility for youth and establishing Ohio's first foster youth ombudsman. Nikki is one of the founding members of Alumni of Care Together Improving Outcomes Now (ACTION) Ohio, and serves as the Residential Liaison.

Nikki is also in the final weeks of her life.

She's been busy knocking out her bucket list, which included visiting a rubber duck store on the East Coast. We reached out to Nikki and offered to make that one happen right here at home.

Last night, our family transitioned the mercantile space into a mini rubber duck store.

Today, while we were closed, Nikki got to be the first customer. And thanks to our patrons on Patreon, we were able to use suspension funds to cover her choice of ducks.

You can also help Nikki. From now until the end of the month, the duck store remains.

Sales will benefit Nikki's Bucket List Item #9 - Start a scholarship fund for former foster youth in my name (Kinship youth and adoptees also qualify and there is no age limit and no degree limit)

Join me for Storytelling, a program where adults and all attending are encouraged to share their happy childhood memories, culture and traditions with the community over a delicious brunch. We play cultural and traditional childhood games, share a brunch and learn about where we all come from, creating community and unity while fostering cultural conversations.

This event is FREE and open to the community, RSVP is required so we have enough brunch for all!

I am incredibly grateful to have a lifelong friend turned fellow entreprenuer, and take great pride in the way we've been so kind to one another's dreams. As we simultaneously enter a season of reconsideration and realignment, I am reminded how fortunate we are to be in it together.
