The Housing Authority of Columbus, GA is one of only 80 housing authorities to participate in the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Moving to Work (MTW) program. This explains the innovative program: https://www.hud.gov/program_offices/public_indian_housing/programs/ph/mtw/faq
As participants, we are required send amendments of our annual reports to HUD. The proposed amendment is regarding the RAD conversion at Warren Williams/Rivers Homes. YOUR VOICE MATTERS!

The Housing Authority of Columbus, Georgia will be hosting two (2) upcoming Landlord meetings.

You will see signs for parking.

Below you will find some important topics that will be discussed:
1. The process for filling out an RTA packet (removal of pages, budget request, rent amount approval).
2. Rent approval process from the inspections department.
3. Discuss the reasons behind qualifying a voucher holder by requiring the potential lessee to make three (3) times the rent amount to be approved.
4. Resident utility responsibility - water, trash and sewer.
5. Payment Requirements - Submitting required documents, tax identification number/SSN, lease, proof of ownership and liability insurance. We will start the process of creating files to store all multifamily apartment community documents that are required. Apartment communities will need to make sure the documents required are always current and will continue to send leases for each client.
6. Requiring extra payments outside of approved rent from HACG or more than the family’s share of the rent, is not allowed. Any payments more than the rent must receive prior approval by our office.

We will have time set aside for questions and answers during the meeting.

Yesterday we announced BIG news that our organization received $745,000 in grant funding from the USDA’s Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP)!
