As numbers of us are supporters of their mission, we're so happy to see Riverview International Center - RIC recognized for their exceptional work. Congratulations!

This week our director Emelia was invited to Columbus City Council to receive a Resolution of Expression in honor of the work of Riverview International Center, and to recognize Immigrant Heritage Month and World Refugee Day. The Haitian Community Network was also honored, for their incredible work on behalf of the Haitian Community in the Colonial Village apartments. Later in the meeting, the council voted unanimously to award the RIC a grant to continue to help New Americans facing housing insecurity and forced relocation from Riverview Drive. We were overjoyed to receive this recognition, and to share with the Council about the good work we are doing on behalf of thousands of people in Columbus. Thank you Columbus City Council, and especially to Lourdes Barroso de Padilla, Shayla Favor, and Shannon Hardin.

NWCC member, Gladys Davis, celebrated today her ordination and installation as pastor at Highwater Congregational United Church of Christ in Newark! Congratulations, Rev. Davis and Highwater!

The first day of Adult Conference concluded with Vesper Service and an inspiring message “Re-Member - Faith Story” from Rev. Sheila P. Spencer. Adult Conference is a kind of “summer camp” experience for those 30 years old and over in the Ohio region. It is a week of Christian educational experiences, worship and fellowship. Vespers are held are held Monday - Thursday at 7pm and are open to all.

We're so lucky to be able to attend Tracy's farewell concert where she will treat us to a variety of beautiful music from Debussy to Mama Mia. Don’t miss it Sunday, June 9, 7 pm at Northwest Christian Church!

Although we see the church primarily as made up of people, we deeply appreciate our physical church as well. Every detail was lovingly created or maintained by some devoted person recently or long ago. We thank God for our beautiful church and the wonderful people who created and are creating it.

Program includes organ and piano music from Johann Sebastian Bach, Jehan Alain, Felix Mendelssohn, Claude Debussy, with special features including organ arrangements of a Chinese piece and selections from Mamma Mia arranged by Tracy Qian

We will welcome the Columbus Chamber Singers in June 2, for an afternoon concert!

Sunday we had the great pleasure of introducing 3 new members to the congregation. Welcome, Ann, Bill & Heather - we’re so happy to have you with us!

Lori was our very able substitute pianist for Sunday’s service because our regular pianist, Tracy, was busy graduating from OSU with a doctorate in music! Congratulations, Tracy, we’re so proud of you!

Sunday's worship service followed a somewhat different format. We were in Fellowship Hall, grouped around tables and talking to each other a lot more than usual about the direction and priorities of the church. The response was positive & enthusiastic.

These beautiful shawls are made and prayed over by our Stitcher’s Circle to give to people who are going through rough times as tokens of support and comfort. It’s a ministry of love.

Heart Sisters are celebrating Earth Day tonight, inviting brothers and sisters to hear Chris Anderson speak on caring for our earth. Program at 7pm, bring your own dinner option at 6pm. Visitors welcome, as always!

Don’t miss our upcoming Chalice Arts Series concert Sunday, April 28, 3 pm, in our sanctuary. It’s a collaboration with the Indianola Presbyterian Church choir, featuring “Gospel Mass” by Robert Ray. Our choir is excited to present this lively jazz/rock/gospel offering with its intricate rhythms and beautiful lyrical passages. Admission is free, free-will offering will be taken. Please join us for this inspiring experience!
