Today is National Peace Officers Memorial Day. It is an opportunity to honor and remember those law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as the family members, friends and fellow officers who carry their legacy.

Earlier this morning, ahead of today’s Patrol Memorial Ceremony and for the second time in our history, troopers from local posts throughout the state visited each of our fallen and placed a United States flag at each members’ gravesite. “Family takes care of family, and finding a thoughtful way to honor our Patrol family members who made the ultimate sacrifice is paramount,” said Patrol superintendent, Colonel Charles Jones. This annual tradition starts at sunrise and runs concurrently during the day of our Memorial Ceremony. We always remember our family. We never forget our fallen.

Tomorrow starts ! From May 8 to 18, Patrol posts across the state will be displaying blue lights to honor officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice & support those continuing to serve.
