Where and when Beryl will hit Texas Tropical Storm Beryl is making its way across the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to hit Texas as a hurricane. CBS Philadelphia meteorologist Andrew Kozak has...
HAPPENING NOW: A flash flood warning is in effect for Atlantic, Cumberland and Cape May counties. One to 3 inches of rain have fallen just in the last couple of hours. We’ll get a bit of a break later on this morning before more rain is possible this afternoon.
Then much of the area has a heat advisory through 7 PM tonight for temperatures that could feel as hot as 103°.
If that wasn’t bad enough, we have another risk for severe weather this afternoon and this evening with heavy rain, damaging winds, and even an isolated tornado possible.
Heat is on for tomorrow!
High temperatures climb back to 90 Tuesday, though luckily humidity stays low.
But tomorrow, a heat advisory goes into effect at 9 a.m. Temps could feel like 100 degrees, and on top of the heat, Kate Bilo says the region is under a slight risk for severe weather Wednesday night.
Covering the Weekend Evening with on this Saturday, with dangerous heat the top story. Temperatures could feel between 105° and up to 115° across the West Coast, East Coast and many areas in between.
We’re also tracking strong to severe storms across Chicago and parts of the upper Midwest, where flash flooding will be the main culprit tonight.
Sunday will likely be the hottest day so far this season for nearly 100,000,000 people across the country.
Don’t forget to check on the very young, the very old, and never forget the pets!

Today marks my 20 years of being a TV meteorologist! 😳 It doesn’t seem real that I’ve done this for 2 whole decades! I want to thank everyone in my life: family, friends, mentors, former/current bosses & those who pushed me to do what I wanted to do since I was 4 years old!
I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. Here’s to (hopefully!) another 2 decades and more! 🙌

CLIMATE CHANGE is real. It’s happening on a global scale, and new research can break down how it is happening on a local level too.
Example: here in , last month was 2.2° above average, and Mays in general are now averaging 2.3° hotter than they were since 1970.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR US? well, it may not seem like a lot of change, it truly is, and can have long lasting, complicated, and even devastating effects on things like crops, urban heating, infrastructure, and even local economy.
There are ways that we can reduce our carbon footprint even on a local level that can bring about changes. At the very least, it’s important that we stay aware, and listen to climate scientists who dedicate their life and research to helping us understand and mitigate the effects of climate change.
: I’ve been running errands across the city today and I witnessed multiple people throwing garbage out of their cars. It’s 2024, and I can’t imagine why anybody still thinks that this is OK, not that it ever was.
We are about to embark on a citywide north to south, west to east dynamic cleaning project by — which will have nothing but positive impacts across the city from the tourist areas to local communities that have felt underserved.
I truly believe Philadelphia is a beautiful city and can be even better, if we all just take some small steps to keep it clean and pristine.
Don’t mean to be on soapbox, but it just seems so simple and I can’t believe that people would be that selfish and rude to continue to throw trash around like it’s no big deal.
Ok I’m done 😎
