We’re excited to share that we have three interns joining InfraSource Detroit who participated in the Grow Detroit's Young Talent (GDYT) program. This citywide initiative provides training and employment opportunities to Detroit residents aged 14 to 24 during the summer. As part of the program, our interns will gain valuable hands-on experience and training in Human Resources, Warehouse Operations, and our Fleet Mechanic Shop.

InfraSource’s dedication to safety and The Capacity Model shows through our Good Catch program. Recently, our field crews demonstrated remarkable attention to detail, professionalism, and a systematic approach to hazard identification. Their efforts directly prevented several unwanted events and helped build the capacity to fail safely. 👷‍♂️

⚡ An electric foreman noticed an irregularity on a nearby power pole. Upon inspection, they found an old secondary service line disconnected from a nearby garage. Swift action was taken to safely de-energize the line, averting potential danger.

🔧 During a project walk-down, the crew identified a deteriorated cross-arm brace on an adjacent power pole. The foreman promptly notified the utility construction manager and took corrective measures to eliminate the hazard.

These recent events highlight our proactive and vigilant approach to safety. Each Good Catch reinforces our commitment to safety and addressing risks in the field. 💪🔒

We recently had the incredible opportunity to partner with the Polaris Career Center at the Career Expo 2024! This event united two initiatives – a family career night and a community job fair.

Yesterday was a very special day in Detroit. Dan Lazic, Regional President of the Quanta Northeast Region, and Jeff Green, Quanta Vice President of Gas Distribution, presented our team with a Quanta Commitment Coin.

Our team members were recognized not just for their incredible actions but also for their exceptional teamwork and quick thinking. Their training and preparation kicked in when faced with a life-threatening situation, saving a team member's life. The morning's Job Hazard Analysis briefing had instilled emergency roles in their minds, and each seamlessly took their assigned role.

InfraSource’s skilled team in Chicago installed six 138kV high-pressure fluid-filled (HPFF) cable splices. The utility holes were equipped with HVAC systems to maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels and mitigation devices to prevent water intrusion. Prior to completing the final splice, the team precisely phased each cable and confirmed by performing continuity tests before pressing the connectors. Their 24/7 dedication paid off, wrapping up all six splices ahead of schedule!

Our team recently celebrated the grand opening of our expanded Baltimore office! This new space is a significant step forward in our commitment to better serving our clients in the area. Our Baltimore office, spanning 20,000 square feet, is equipped to handle mechanical repairs efficiently, with an additional 5 acres dedicated to the yard.

Our team had an amazing time at Michigan Construction Career Days! It was a day provided to students to explore careers in trades. They got hands-on experience operating equipment and engaged in activities like fusing pipe and operating equipment, which offered invaluable insights into trade careers.
