Bringing my kids to work is so expensive. A pack of emergency mustaches was just one of several things that we COULD NOT leave without yesterday.

This is week three in the new store! We are finally settling in and getting used to all the space and all the light (there is SO much of both)! It’s been a huge adjustment being in a new neighborhood and joining teams with Tigertree while we continue to finish projects and keep the daily grind going with the exhaustion of our DIY buildout still lingering in these aging bodies 🤣. But guys.. the support has been intense! The numbers have been really good! The high fives and notes of encouragement have been flowing! Thank you!!! Honestly this has been a time filled with so much doubt personally. We made the decision for this move very quickly. How often do 6000 sf retail spaces that we can afford become available? (The answer is, I think, once in a lifetime.) In a world where everyone seems to think that everyone else has it all together I like to take any opportunity to say that I do not. There have been lots of tears and sleepless nights and self doubt over the past few months. But the response the last few weeks has been incredible. Like best case scenario, dream come true incredible. THANK YOU for keeping this little family business thriving for 17 years in all its different iterations. 🧡

Today is our last day in Grandview!! THANK YOU for making this space sparkle with whimsy and fun for the past 7 years. We can't wait to show you around our huge new space in Clintonville in a week(ish)!

This Saturday (4/6) will be our last day open in Grandview!! If you haven't heard, we are moving to a giant space in Clintonville with our sister store ! We have loved our time in Grandview and will miss this magical little space but we are very excited for things to come (like having a place to sit 🤣)!

The Girl Scouts are here today selling cookies until 5! It's a grab and go situation- no need to wait for months for the cookies to come in, they have them ready for you! Emma's got her pen and her clipboard ready, like she was born right into a retail family or something.

Milo and I stopped by for a little holiday shopping yesterday. The store is so full of unique gifts for literally everyone!

I'm so thankful for this 1000 square feet of somewhat controlled chaos! Who gets to own a toy store?? What kind of old timey magic is this? Long ago I had visions of this grand empire I wanted to build with multiple locations and a big team and a centralized warehouse for shipping and...

And then I started thinking about what actually makes this good. It's being involved in every single aspect of this little shop. Of having a close knit team that knows everything about every product we stock. Connecting with parents daily about how freaking hard raising kids is and yeah maybe having them wear that ridiculously cute cardigan will make things feel a little bit easier. (For me, it really does!)

We are your little local toy store and I don't want it any other way. It's a really good gig and a rare honor in a world moving more and more toward the convenience of online giants who don't care about you or the hands that the products they sell passed through to get to you with free overnight shipping.

I'm really grateful for the life you all have given me and the opportunity to be part of yours! I hope you have a restful day and your kids don't break anything too valuable at your host's house. 🧡🧡🧡

Our favorites for two year olds! This age is so fun to play with. They are starting to participate in imaginative play, show fine motor skills by stacking and sorting, show gross motor skills by climbing, running, pulling things (and scooter riding!). We have tons of stuff to tickle their sweet little ever growing brains!!

I thought maybe having the ghost window say it would make it seem less terrible. We can’t be open this week 😞. In a perfect storm of timing I’m out of town and Molly’s family got Covid. She is on the mend and will be in store for contact free pickups and shipping on Wednesday and Thursday from 1-5 but we won’t be available for in-store shopping. I will update here on Friday with plans for the weekend. We will follow cdc guidelines to dictate when we can open again but we can’t say for sure when that will be. Please send all negative test vibes Molly’s way!!

Today (Saturday) we will only be open 10-12. Hopefully this gives you a chance to grab any gifts you ordered for celebrations this weekend. I’m so sorry for the trouble! We are an extremely small team and the back to school germs have won this round.
