The next class in my Gardening with Nature course will cover garden maintenance: a sometimes overwhelming subject that I'll simplify to help you find success. šæ
I'm extremely excited to announce that I've put together a short course on gardening that should help anyone plan and successfully achieve the garden that suits their lifestyle, garden site, and goals! These sessions will be around an hour, with 30 - 40 minutes of time used for me to present the material I have developed, and with 20 - 30 minutes for us to discuss specifics that pertain to topics covered in that week's class. I'll be providing handouts with everything I cover in the talking portion so that you can review it later, and think through how to tailor the information to your specific garden!
The first 4 classes will take place at Provided Coffee/Nothing New (165 Brumley Ave NE, Concord, NC 28025) at 9:30 AM starting Saturday, January 20. The final class will be a field trip to my flower farm (Curiosity Farm), and we will schedule that on Feb. 24, March 2, or March 16 depending on weather and on the input of those attending the classes. Each class includes your choice of a $5 plant from my shop or a packet of seeds! I look forward to sharing the joy of gardening! If you have a friend you think would enjoy this course, please share! Let me know if I can answer any questions!

Iām excited to share that we will be offering fresh, locally grown flowers every Friday during the winter months! These beautiful tulips are grown by Sally in China Grove, NC. She produces them in the big basement under the farm house thatās been in her family for generations. I am thrilled to be partnering with her to bring these super fresh and perfect blooms to Concord. The bouquets this week are simpleāmy home grown curly willow and her tulips that will mature to a cherry red. I hope you will enjoy them. Available only at this time!
This Saturday at 10:30 AM, we'll have a Bring Your Own Container amaryllis workshop at Nothing New! You'll be able to pot up an amaryllis bulb (included in the cost of the workshop) and paperwhite bulbs in containers you already have around the house! I'll also have containers available in the shop. This is a great way to have flowers in the house all through the holiday season. Your containers will look beautiful finished with preserved moss, and we'll discuss how best to take care of your bulbs while they're blooming, and after they are finished. After you save your spot in the workshop, I'll be in touch to see what color amaryllis bulb I should set aside for you!
We'll be meeting at Nothing New in downtown Concord (165 Brumley Ave NE, Concord, NC 28025) where my shop space is! You can even grab a coffee from Provided Coffee to enjoy while we plant, and have a leisurely lunch at Southern Strain Brewery afterwards!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I have memories of huge family gatherings, the table decorated with foraged leaves and berries and pumpkins, and of course, great food. Whether your gathering will be with friends or family this year, let's not skip this special time to stop, think about our blessings, and share the gifts God has given to us. š¾
This will be one of the last weeks for fresh local flowers. A hard freeze is forecasted for Tuesday and Wednesday evenings (so bring in your tender plants!), and that will kill the zinnias and dahlias. Thankfully, we should have chrysanthemums a little longer. Take a minute to enjoy the beauty of your garden today!
Overnight low of 24 degrees forecasted for Tuesday and Wednesday nights!
Cut your flowers and bring in your plants!
Dahlias (and other flowers!) are still blooming, so get them while you can! and in the shop ! We are closed for you pick for the season.
And we are open! What a dream this is! Iām feeling very grateful today, because I could have not stocked this space without my parentsā help. My dad handmade these beautiful cutting boards, and my mom helped me figure out the layout of the space, propagated plants, and found vintage and antique items for the space. They are the best. Iām thankful as well for my husbandās help in securing installations, and my kidsā hard work hauling items in and out. This has been a team effort!!! I invite you to check it outā is open 10 AM - 6 PM Tuesday - Sunday. opens a little earlier: 8 AM - 6 PM! 165 Brumley Ave NE, Concord, NC 28025 in downtown Concord.
