Follow the red brick road!... We’re starting to see what the end product of the overhead to underground conversion project will look like in the downtown alleys. We appreciate all your patience and understanding while we continue to make the Historic Downtown Conroe an attractive destination for our residents and visitors. We’re getting closer to the day when all the overhead lines and poles will be out of the picture. 🦺🚧

Sidewalks play a vital role in city life. As conduits for pedestrian movement and access, they enhance connectivity and promote walking 🚶♂️. As public spaces, sidewalks serve as the front steps to the city, activating streets socially and economically.
Capital Improvement Project 2021-20 Sidewalks on Davis from Pacific to 10th St, is currently under construction and heads east from downtown. The new sidewalk will be ADA compliant 👩🦽 and will allow a safe means of travel for pedestrians.
🦺🚧⚠️ Please excuse our mess! Our Capital Improvement Project No. 2022-05 SSOI Section 8, is currently under construction, so please advise of construction equipment and open trenches. This project consists of sewer line replacement and rehabilitation.

Have you ever noticed colored flags on the side of the road or on your neighbor's lawn and wondered what they meant?
Utility companies use temporary colored flags to designate where underground utilities are located. The purpose is to avoid accidents and disruption in services when anyone is working on or close to the buried utilities. The flags are placed by utility companies by request when work is being planned in any particular area.
Important reminder: When planning a project that involves digging, make sure to call before you dig!
