We just had a client come in with a check to donate. She said we helped her a few months ago and she wanted to repay the gift. It made my heart happy❤️❤️❤️ Sometimes people just need a little help and they are back and running-this is why we do what we do! thank you for thinking of us🙏🏻❤️
Join us this Sunday at Dogwood Park for Hip Cookeville's Free Firefly Festival. There will be music on 3 stages, a chalk art contest (which Helping Hands will be competing in) as well as other activities. There will be lots of vendors, food trucks, and other booths where items can be purchased as well. Bring some chairs or a blanket and hangout for what is forecasted to be a perfect day! See you there. 10:00 am-7:00 pm
Important Announcement from Helping Hands of Putnam County
As a local PRIVATE nonprofit organization, Helping Hands of Putnam County is dedicated to assisting individuals during times of emergency. We want to take this opportunity to clarify our mission and the services we provide to our valued clients and donors.
First and foremost, we are here to extend a helping hand to those facing urgent and unforeseen circumstances. Whether it's a sudden or a temporary financial setback, we strive to provide support and resources to alleviate the immediate burden.
We are incredibly grateful for the generous support we receive from individual donors and local churches. Their contributions enable us to fulfill our mission and make a positive impact in the lives of those in need. We take great care to ensure that every donation is used wisely and responsibly, serving as faithful stewards of the funds entrusted to us.
However, we've noticed a concerning trend recently. While we welcome and encourage members of our community to seek assistance when faced with genuine emergencies, we've observed an increase in clients approaching us with a sense of entitlement. It's essential to understand that we are not a government agency, and our resources are limited.
We want to make it clear that Helping Hands of Putnam County is not designed to provide biannual bill payment plans or serve as a substitute for regular grocery shopping. Our volunteers work tirelessly to help those in genuine need, but we must prioritize emergency situations. Our goal is to assist individuals during times of crisis.
We are committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all who seek our assistance. If you are facing an emergency or experiencing hardship, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We will do everything in our power to help you through difficult times.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We would also like to take this time to say a huge “Thank you” to all those who volunteer and donate so we can continue serving those in need in our community. You truly make a difference in the lives of our clients!
