Carrie Arnett to serve as Director of Educational Options and Services

In a recent post to the staff of Black Oak Mine USD, Superintendent Dr. Gabe Simon wrote the following”
“I would like to provide an update regarding some administrative staffing changes for the 24-25 school year. At last night's Board of Trustees meeting, the Board appointed Carrie Arnett as the Director of Educational Options and Services. In this role, Mrs. Arnett will continue to oversee everything related to teaching, learning, student services, curriculum and instruction for our District. In addition, she will serve as the lead administrator for American River Charter School and Divide High School.

We will begin the search for a highly qualified administrator to serve as the Principal of Northside Elementary for the 24-25 school year and beyond. We look forward to the leadership Carrie Arnett will provide in her new role and we are excited about selecting a new leader to join the BOMUSD administrative team.”

Arnett is well known in the district and community. She graduated from Golden Sierra High School in 1991, graduated from Sacramento State University with a degree in psychology and later with her teaching credential. In 2004, she completed her Administrative Services Credential. She taught middle School English at Northside School and then became principal of Northside School in 2016. When asked what she sees as her future goals in her new position, she said: “I’m looking forward to being able to support the district and individual school sites more closely as we work toward increasing student achievement for all. Having the opportunity to learn and be part of our American River Charter School and Divide High families will be an exciting adventure.”

Join us for our last General PTA meeting tonight 6:00pm. We will be going over the end of year items and board elections for next years 24/25 PTA. We hope to see you there !

We want to thank everyone for a wonderful turn out yesterday at our “There’s No Place Like Northside” Spring Carnival.
Northside PTA would like to give special thanks to:
- Cool Boys and Girls Club (yummy hot dogs)
- Parent volunteers- Set up, take down, working booths, Face painters and all donations (treats and prizes)
- Golden Sierra & Northside Student Volunteers (working booths, food, popcorn and glitter tattoos)
- Grandma V (making some amazing balloons)
- Sundance Kid DJ providing amazing music
- Whisky Business providing extra treats

We truly can’t do these events without everyone and on behalf of the Northside PTA Thank You again! It was so great to see everyone and the smiles on the kids faces. “There truly is no place like Northside” 💙💛💙💛

We hope to see you tonight for our spring carnival “There’s no place like NORTHSIDE” from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

Update to Spring Carnival:
Due to unforeseen instances with insurance we have been notified that our Spring Carnival will not be able to have our bounce houses or petting zoo as planned for this event. Northside PTA has found other fun entertainment for our kids and families.

If you have purchased a wrist band for bounce houses we will be refunding you that expense. You do have the option to exchange your wristband for additional tickets, please let us know or contact the office and we will get you the refund or additional tickets.

We are looking forward to our “No Place Like Northside” Spring Carnival on 5/3/2024. In order to ensure we have enough dinner and items available for families we are asking if you can please RSVP in the link below:
