These impact fees could reach thousands of dollars, if you are a real estate developer or entrepreneur, you don’t want your vision to get entangled up with red tape and regulations. Get as much information as possible from the authorities before you even think about breaking ground, and make sure to check in with the neighbors incase they oppose and wish to tie you up in hearings forever.

44 years ago on St Patrick's Day 1980 I accepted a job offer to "Join our firm and be general counsel to a national bank", resigned my position as Deputy Counsel, Secretary and officer at a bank in Philadelphia and moved to Miami. The firm and the bank long gone but I'm still here.

As we celebrate the holidays we wish you and your friends and families a blessed, joyous and peaceful holiday season. Be grateful for all that we all have.

Uh-oh, apparently today is another one of those "days", and I almost missed it. Paralegal day. We have a very good paralegal and we do appreciate her work, So thank you Cristy on paralegal day!

Just finished my fifth day at Lloyd Comiter's Mediation Training Academy to add Certified Circuit Court Civil Mediator to the law practice. It takes two full weekends and another day too. Now observation and participation in mediations, and then a Florida Supreme Court Certified Civil Mediator.

Just finished my second day at Lloyd Comiter's Mediation Training Academy to add Certified Circuit Court Mediator to the law practice. But only after another day of class tomorrow, another whole weekend of class, observation and participation in mediations. Feels like a repeat of Bar Exam cram school from 43 years ago!

We had a great luncheon this past Wednesday with our guest speaker and past President of the CGBA, Blake Sando, Esq. He provided attendees with many practical tips to save them from legal malpractice claims. It’s always good to revisit and revise some of our practices to make sure we are protected when doing our best to serve clients.
