This is a difficult piece to read! The power of the conservative majority of justices is more than palpable—it is down right dictatorial and unwilling to weigh 21st century concerns against antiquated case law regarding the scope of the 2nd Amendment.

Forever and beyond, the American tendency to overlook the power of the highest office in the land, to appoint justices to the Supreme Court, needs reversing! When we vote, we vote for so much more than a President for our great Nation; we vote for the minds and philosophies and the political leanings of those who will draft and carve out the laws that govern.

Supreme Court Strikes Down New York Law Limiting Guns in Public The decision, based on a broad interpretation of the Second Amendment, will make it harder for states and localities to restrict guns outside the home.

Our Nation is overwhelmed with causes. There's the war in Ukraine, now we have Somalia (arguably, it's always been a concern), immigration rights, the rights of our children to receive gender identity education and medical treatment, whether being "woke" is helping or hurting us, the right to receive an abortion, and so much more.

Many view this moment in time as history repeating itself in many ways. When it comes to abortion, many supporters argue that abortions are necessary in order to maintain control over your life and your own wellbeing, your pursuit of happiness, your liberty to live out your existence. Many argue that abortion is in fact healthcare. How Roe v. Wade will evolve is unfolding right before our eyes. What we know for sure, is that the denial of abortion rights in various states, will undoubtedly need to be fought at the local AND the national level.

Reflecting on her experience, Maggie says, “The most rewarding part of my practice is the family reunification portion. That is, when a client gets to join his or her family and is released from detention, granted their waiver, had their case terminated, had their bond granted, had their status restored. The best part is always the part where they text or email you a photo of themselves, surrounded by their loved ones smiling and crying from happiness. Working on the case I did with AI Justice from May to August of 2021, I felt so gratified with each little win. The end result was seeing our client being released from custody, and also having his EOIR case completely terminated!”
