Steven Safren, professor of psychology and director of the Center for HIV and Research in Mental Health (CHARM) at the University of Miami, was recognized by the Faculty Senate with the 2023โ24 Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award for a lifetime of distinguished accomplishments in clinical practice and research.
David Chin, professor of chemical, environmental, and materials engineering, received the Faculty Senate 2023โ24 James W. McLamore Outstanding Service Award for his commitment and exemplary service to the University of Miami.

Returning for its second year, the Shorts Miami International Film Festival is a juried festival of short films hosted by The Bill Cosford Cinema on the Coral Gables Campus. The venue houses a 70-square-foot screen and exhibits 35mm and a variety of high-definition digital formats. Attendees will have access to film screenings and receptions following the showings. Awards will be presented on closing night.
