The Coral Springs Kiwanis club awards two $1,000 college scholarships annually to deserving Key Club members. In memory of club member Melanie Grew who passed away last year, the scholarship was renamed in her honor and increased to $2,000.
The recipients of the first 2023 Coral Springs Kiwanis Melanie Grew Memorial Key Club Scholarships were recognized last night and they are Gianni Thomas of Coral Glades High School and Yuwei Huang of Coral Springs Charter School.
Melanie’s brother, Chuck, was present to give the scholarships to their recipients.
Gianni is Valedictorian of her Class and will go to the University of Florida in the Fall to study Biology. Yuwei is second in her Class and will attend the University of Florida in the fall to study Computer Engineering.
Recipients are judged primarily on their contributions to their respective Key Clubs and the members of the Coral Springs Kiwanis club are elated to present these scholarships to these deserving Key Club members.
Congratulations Gianni and Yuwei!
