Discipleship video #11 part 2: Your Enemy the Flesh
https://vimeo.com/11646783
Looking back over the photos from this year, I can’t help but laugh and smile at many of the memories and great times we have had. These are a few of my favorite pictures so far! Which one is your favorite? “Vote” by liking the picture that is your favorite, I can’t decide. 😁
We should live like the Rechabites. The Rechabites obeyed, kept and did the commandments of their patriarch, Jonadab the son of Rechab, Jer 35:18-19.
Jonadab gave his descendants three negative commandments in Jer 35:6-7. Ye shall drink no wine. Neither shall ye build house. Nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard. The reason is that he knew Israel would be invaded by a foreign enemy. By not being tied down to homes, fields, and vineyards, they could move away from the attack or go into captivity to save their lives. Thus, they lived like strangers in Judah.
When they refused to drink the wine that Jeremiah offered them, Jer 35:1-6, they were a testimony to the inhabitants of Judah. Certainly, if the Rechabites willingly obeyed the commandments of Jonadab, a man, how much more should the men of Judah have obeyed the commandments of God Almighty.
The Rechabites are also a testimony to us. The three negative commandments that Jonadab gave them are like three negative commandments that God has given us in the New Testament. Our negative commandments are tied to positive commands that we must obey. To listen to this sermon, click the preaching and teaching link in our bio.

God shows three things that he delights in here in the book of Jeremiah: lovingkindness, judgement, and righteousness. He also says that he exercises these things in the earth. He tells Israel in this verse that if man is going to glory in anything it should be in having understanding and knowledge of him. In this sermon we are going to look at these three things to get a greater understanding and knowledge of God. Listen here: https://www.my3bc.com/three-things-that-god-delights-in/
