Today we are highlighting Han-Ting! Han-Ting graduated last year in 2020 and came back to visit in Corvallis for celebrations.
Han-Ting has been working as a Field Service Engineer for SeqGen, Inc., based in California. He is the lead of liquid handling robot systems, where his job consists of up to 70% travel to customer sites for troubleshooting and maintinance of different instruments.
"The biotech instrument that our company provide services for are mainly for DNA analysis, or virus RNA detection. During the COVID pandemic, many labs experienced shortage of human resources and COVID detection analyzer, the real-time PCR machine. Our company not only provide the machine from refurbishment, but also provide the method of automating the testing process. So that the labs could achieve more sample for testing with less medical technician to operate the process.
One of the biggest project that we ever had, was to build a COVID testing lab for Vancouver, Canada city government. We used the method and technology mentioned above to establish a protocol and a lab for their government to resolve the shortage of lab technician issue in Canada."
Today we are highlighting another recent graduate of OSU. Meet Jae from Korea!
"I have worked for Orange Media Network as a Creative Associate. I worked for both house work and client works in this position. For client works, I created digital and print advertisements, magazines, and newspapers working with staff or lead of each medium at OMN(TV, radio, and other publications). For house works, I created print and digital deliverables for advertising on-campus events requested by student organizations on campus
The most memorable class I took at OSU was the capstone class. I conducted research over the span of 6 months that I used to create a product. More details is at www.jaehyunkimdesign.com/ux/ui-design/icos-final."
Its been a while since the 2021 graduation this past month. We are going to be sharing some highlights of international graduates within the coming weeks. To kick things off, we are highlighting Vania!
"I recently accepted an internship and am waiting for my EAD card to arrive! The internship is in South San Francisco but for now I’m planning on working remotely from Corvallis to be with friends. I'll be interning with a biopharmaceutical company’s Global Supplier Quality Team based in California for the next year, starting this summer. It’s less of a traditional engineering job, but I’m really excited to start exploring my passion in biotech in a department where I can meet people from across many disciplines and cultures!
I’m not really interested in graduate school right now, but I might enroll in an MBA program in the future after I have some industry experience."
