As the Oregon State University (OSU) Organic Growers Club, our primary focus is our student run organic production farm, founded over 20+ years ago by a handful of students with a desire to learn about agriculture first hand. Besides being a lot of FUN, the club is today a valuable teaching tool, as well as a model organization, over the years having gained support from administration, forward thi

nking faculty, students, and community members. We currently have over 300 members and 400 community clients involved with the Growers Club! On the farm, which is nearly 2 acres and located on OSU agricultural research land, we use organic methods to grow nearly every type of vegetable you can think of, as well as many berries and herbs. We then harvest and sell our produce to the on-campus community every Friday at our own fresh market. We use only quality seeds and starts, including many heirloom varieties. We use the proceeds from our veggie sales to keep the farm running. The vegetable sales are very popular though, so in addition to maintaining production at the farm, we are also able to fund several internships each summer for students, as well as support many philanthropic activities in the Corvallis area. Throughout spring and summer, we have Thursday night Harvest parties (with free hot supper - bring a spoon and bowl!) that start at 4:30. Also Sunday Skool work parties every Sunday from 9-noon! CALLING ALL ORGANIC GROWERS CLUB MEMEBERS PAST AND PRESENT!!!
We have a chance at some REAL fundraising for the club for the long term! I am asking everyone of you who has ever hung out, had a hot supper, met friends, learned something about Organic Farming or just remembered a rainbow at the farm to dig back, way back and make a list of everyone you remember/still know/are married to(!) you can from your student farm experience and dig up contact info and send to me a simple spreadsheet of names (and contact info if you have). 7 students came out for a cold sunny windy spring break Thursday night work party! Harvested and bundled 23 bundles of kale raab, weeded two garlic beds, and had a killer hot supper, curry beans and rice with sausages bread and beverages! The best!!!

Support student experiential learning and eat local organic produce all summer long with a Beaver Classic CSA box from the OSU Organic Growers Club!

These boxes are filled with student grown fruits and veggies—enough to feed about 4 people! They start small in May but build to amazing boxes mid-season with heaping portions of organic produce for around 28 weeks total, ready for local pickup every week at the Oak Creek Center for Urban Horticulture on campus.
