The new story of the vintage diner
“As of Monday, April 6, 2020, we will be closed for renovations. But we’ll be back in summer 2020. Thanks for your support. See you soon. Stay safe everyone.” - Dick
The name Dick Church's hit the sign in 1972, but the site has been a restaurant since 1947. First a burger joint, then a coffee shop until Dick made it into a full diner. The location is one of the longest continually opened restaurants in Orange County.
In 2017 restauranteur Bodie Rasmussen (Lost Bean Coffee, Lost Vine Wine Bar) bought Dick Church's from it's longtime owners, the King family. In 2020 Bodie and his wife Sarah (Christakis Greek Cuisine, Little Greek) brought in Costa Mesa residents Tim and Tracy Taber as partners. The plan is to keep the original 1970's vibe while freshening up the place and making improvements.
Dick Church’s is a comfortable place to hang with friends. Come as you are, all are welcome. Surfers, Skaters, College Professors, Plumbers, Punkers, Professionals and People who are retired all together in vintage orange booths. We love our community, our regulars, our little spot. The super friendly Dick Church’s staff will greet you immediately and keep your coffee filled up. Nice portions of fresh made breakfast and lunch items. Try our french toast combo, or for something different, our Chilaquiles with our tomatillo and chips made in house. For lunch try the Hen House with a cup of house made soup. Plenty of parking. See you soon.
