Solar contracts are something that has been on our radar for years! Today the CFPB issued a statement regarding their concerns. Know what you are signing! Read everything! Look for a reputable company that will answer questions to your satisfaction. Use an experienced sales representative. Did you know that solar salesmen are not required to be licensed even though the contracts they work with affect your home? Do your homework!

There have been significant discussions and questions over the last few months regarding the status of future real estate commissions. FHA published a FAQ on March 28, 2024 stating that "Under existing FHA policy, if sellers continue to pay buyer-side real estate agent commissions and fees as a manner of state and local law or custom, and if the commissions and fees are reasonable in amount, existing policy would not treat those payments as interested party contributions provided all other requirements are met."
Fannie Mae issued a Selling Notice on April 15, 2024 AND Freddie Mac issued an Industry Letter on April 15, 2024 basically in agreement and using very similar language.
