We start a NEW show this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, November 11-12! We're calling it "An Old Convention Song!" If you like great convention music, DO NOT miss this show! This new show will be a part of our regular programming moving forward and it starts this weekend at 1PM CT/2PM ET.

Boaz monthly fellowship singing will meet tonight, Nov 14 @ 6 30pm.

Tonight was our 1st Fellowship Singing in Boaz AL. Our goal is to get more young people involved in singing on a regular basis and that goal was met tonight. 😀

Some things we are doing differently in what we're labeling a "Shape-Note Gospel Fellowship Singing" to distinguish from other gospel singing practices.

1. Sit in a hollow square (ish) in voice parts (tenor and bass intermingle)
2. We sing the shapes first on every song
3. We sing 25 minutes and take a 5 minute recess, then repeat (instead of incorporating lots of "specials")
4. We respect that all people believe differently, therefore we welcome anyone to attend and participate regardless of belief
5. We eat afterwards! 😀😀😀

Our Solfege with Shape-notes App is ALMOST READY TO DEPLOY (see some pics below).

Soon we will all be able to touch a shape and it will sound a pitch so we can perfectly practice our Shape-note singing for FREE!

Songbooks were shipped today to South Africa. 😀😀😀 Sure hope they make it because shipping alone was $280 a box. Wohhh!Shipped 4 boxes!

Would you be open to helping us? We've raised $1,110 of the $2,000 needed to create this tool.

We are launching a campaign to raise money to create free tool that people can use to practice singing by shape. Funding goal is $2,000 (that covers design, development, and deployment and reflects estimates we have received from developers).

The plan is to make this tool available on our website and as a mobile app for android and ios for free.

Pictured below is a draft initial design. When a shape is touched, it sounds the pitch depending on the key chosen.

This tool will be immensely helpful to beginners because if the scale is not practiced correctly, the utility of the system is destroyed.
