Arie Van Selm’s vibrant masterpiece, “Statue of Liberty,” captures the essence of the iconic structure in bold, vivid colors, with whimsical birds bursting forth from its crown. Inspired by Van Selm’s travels to Mexico, this artwork celebrates freedom, form, and expression!
These captivating sculptures, Phantom IV and Phantom V, by Madeleine Soich are a harmonious blend of upcycled materials including metal, nails, pulp, and leaves. We were so proud to have these on display as a testament to the power of creativity and sustainability! 🎨♻️

Spanish classes spent time practicing their recently expanded lexicon by discussing what they observed within the Pamala Nelson painting “Mixed Buffet.”
FUN FACT! Mosaics are nicknamed “the eternal pictures” because of their durability. ⭐️
Pictured is the “Chris Healing the Sick” by Allyn Cox which hangs in the Corasaniti Assembly Hall of the Terry Center.
After being on loan to the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, Sedrick Huckaby’s “Gone but Not Forgotten: Sha Sha” has returned to our Museum. The painting was part of “Kinship” an exhibit exploring the complexities of how people connect.
Come and be inspired by the current exhibit “Without a Face” by Johannes Boekhoudt. Sign up to tour the Museum at www.jesuitdallasmuseum.org/visit.
Our most recent acquisition is Pamela Nelson's Mixed Buffet. This stunning acrylic painting on canvas was inspired by sharing meals with friends. "Company is the main ingredient" Nelson noted. Fittingly, we have placed the new artwork along the glass walls of the School's cafeteria where students, teachers, and guests share in their own mixed buffets.

Not only did McKee share his techniques, but he also assisted ceramics classes in creating their own pieces in homemade kilns.

Merry Christmas from all of us at the Jesuit Dallas Museum! Pictured is the Dennis Downey piece “San Miguel Church” oil on canvas.
Before the semester wrapped some of our theology classes had the opportunity to meet with a docent of the Museum and take a tour through our collection. Together, they discussed a few pieces focused on religious and Christian themes.
Did you know in 2022, as part of the Dallas Soars! citywide art project, a 30-foot sculpture was constructed at the back of the School? Containing a giant fiberglass Pegasus, D. Tillery ’83 engineered the horse to rotate 360 degrees and as a result, fly with the wind.
Thank you to our docents and volunteers for hosting our booth at the 29th Annual JWA Christmas Bazaar. We love any opportunity to showcase the Museum’s collection and sell student artwork to our supportive community.
The exhibition, “Otis Dozier & Texas Artists” is currently on display in the Historical Library. The collection features six works on paper by Texas artist, Otis Dozier. The works have been acquired through a gift from the Estate of Denni Washburn, the niece of Otis Dozier!
