Thanks to Charles Hefling Jr. for this helpful and succinct reminder. We often use the word "love" to describe a feeling - warmth, closeness, desire, etc. These are all wonderful aspects of our experience of "love". Christian love, however, is more fundamentally a choice and discipline. We choose to act for someone else's good regardless of how we feel about it.

Our Story
St. John’s was founded in 1946 by members of St. Matthew's cathedral in Dallas to serve the Lake Highlands and Casa Linda/Casa View areas of east Dallas. The current church building was constructed in the early 60's and maintains the mid-century modern architecture as originally designed by O’Neil Ford and Arch Swank.
Since it was founded, our parish has always been a community of Christians who center our lives around worship, education, and service. We worship God in the beauty of the Anglican High Church tradition. We make disciples of Jesus through preaching that engages minds and hearts with the Gospel and through excellent Christian education for all ages. And we engage the Church’s mission in our local community and around the world.
