Our Executive Secretary, Pastor Jason C. North, Sr., visited and preached at our DFW Ghanaian SDA Church today under the leadership of Pastor Emmanuel Kumah. This congregation recently paid off its mortgage to God be the glory. Let’s pray for this beautiful church as it seeks to grow God’s Kingdom through its upcoming youth evangelistic series.

Southwest Region Conference eNewsletter - August 22, 2024 The summer months are coming to a close, school has started, and we’re settling in for the final stretch of 2024! We praise God for each of you, and thank you for your prayers, support, and service to His cause, His conference (the Southwest Region Conference), and His people!

Continued development is taking place at our campground, Lone Star Camp! We’re excited about our new splash pad and “air jumpers” located in “Kids’ Kingdom!”

The Southwest Region Conference Women's Ministries invites you to the GOD RESTORES Women's Conference on October 5 and 6, 2024 at the Grace Temple SDA Church.

Rejuvenate your spirit, mind, and body. Experience soul-stirring worship with the renowned musical group “Virtue” and be inspired by a compelling message from Pastor Kimberly Bulgin.

Discover strategies to transition from despair to triumph at our workshops led by First Lady Danielle Byrd, Audra Holt, and Gwen Hunter. Jehovah’s Jewels, a workshop for girls ages 10-18, is provided.

Be spiritually refreshed at the Sister to Sister Prayer Breakfast on Sunday.

The “God Restores” weekend promises to be a time of rejuvenation, prayer, and the chance to forge bonds with new and old friends.

Our Conference President, Dr. Carlton P. Byrd, was in Oklahoma City, OK, Saturday evening, August 17, and served as the keynote speaker for the 38th Achievers Banquet for the Metropolitan Better Living Center, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that provides Adult Day Care Services for Senior Adults in Oklahoma City (OKC). Present for the occasion was also Pastor and Mrs. Terrell McCoy, Pastor of the Voice of Hope SDA Church in OKC; OKC Mayor - David Holt; and Rachel Holt, United Way CEO and wife of Mayor David Holt.

Today, our Executive Secretary, Pastor Jason C. North Sr., visited and preached at our New Life SDA church in Marion, Arkansas, which is under the leadership of Pastor Adrian Valcin. Let’s keep our brothers and sisters in our prayers here in Marion, Arkansas, as they seek to minister to their community and win souls for the kingdom. All students are cordially invited to attend a very special “Back to School” Sabbath at “The Dallas Project” on Saturday, August 24, 2024! Our speaker will be Dr. Carlton P. Byrd, and our music ministry will be brought to us by our Dallas Project Mass Choir. Special gifts will be given to all students from our community and churches who are in attendance. Elementary students, composed of Kindergarten through Grade Eight students, will receive a new backpack, high school students will receive a $25.00 Amazon gift card, and college students will receive a $25.00 Amazon gift card and toiletry care package!

Dear Southwest Region Conference Family,

Due to the threat of severe weather forecasted for Sabbath afternoon/evening, August 10, in the Gillette, WY area where the 2024 International Pathfinder Camporee is currently being held, we regret to inform you that Camporee Leadership, in consultation with the North American Division Leadership, has made the difficult decision to end all camporee related activities this evening, Friday, August 9.

While we understand this is disappointing news, and we share in this disappointment, we also concur that the safety of the over 60,000 Pathfinders and attendees is top priority given the very dangerous weather conditions predicted for tomorrow, August 10.

Given this immediate announcement made by camporee leadership, and in the best interest of Pathfinders’ safety, we are kindly requesting our Southwest Region Conference Pathfinder Clubs (numbering over 1,000 Pathfinders and staff members in attendance), to begin mobilizing efforts to expedite their early departure from Gillette, WY.

We sincerely thank our Pathfinder Leaders, Staff Members, and Pathfinders for their understanding, sacrifices, flexibility, and cooperation during this time.

We also solicit the prayers from our conference family for the safety of everyone as we seek to depart from Gillette, WY, and arrive at our different places of abode free from hurt, harm, and danger.
