This is so neat! Happy 89th Anniversary to the , one of the most vital pieces of legislation in our history.
Tonight and through tomorrow, we are mourning the saddest day in the Jewish calendar, Tisha B’Av. We pause to remember the multiple tragedies that have occurred one this day in Jewish history, including the destruction of the First and Second Temple in Jerusalem.
Yet even through it all, the Jewish people live.
We honor this history as we continue building a better world for the Jewish people and for everyone. Wishing all observing today a meaningful and easy fast.
Join us in commemorating the birthday of Lucy Stone, born in 1818. Lucy was a leading suffragist who dedicated her life to fighting inequality. She organized the first National Woman's Rights Convention in Worcester, Massachusetts, and she was a founding member of the American Woman Suffrage Association (AWSA). Also, she was the first Massachusetts woman to earn a college degree.

May her memory be a blessing.
With great sadness we regret to inform of the passing of NCJW past President Janice Ricks Schneiderman z”l, a force for good and a beloved friend to so many of us.
Jan was on the NCJW Board from 1990 to 2005, and served as NCJW President during the 1999-2002 Triennium. Jan was a devoted champion of strong women’s leadership. Many of NCJW’s Colleagues for Life have described Jan as caring and inclusive, sharing that she continuously gave others an opportunity to shine and grow as Board members and leaders.
Her family has shared that donations in Jan’s memory can be made to National Council of Jewish Women: https://www.ncjw.org/act/action/donate/
May Jan’s memory be for a blessing, and may her family find strength at this difficult time.
Shifra Bronznick, a friend & partner of National Council of Jewish Women, took the time to reflect on her late friend, Vivian Silver z''l.
Vivian was an NCJW partner & advocate in Israel & feminist peace activist who founded Women Wage Peace. She dedicated her life to working for a shared society between Jews & Arabs in Israel. She was tragically killed during Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel on October 7.

Let's learn more about our city!
Following the outbreak of the Mexican Revolution of 1910, Dallas received an influx of Mexican immigrants who settled in barrios such as “Little Mexico,” a bustling community located in what is now Uptown. Several schools were built to serve the new Mexican American students.
On July 23, Dr. Macario Hernandez, President at Dallas College Mountain View Campus and local advocate for public education, will join us for a discussion on the early development of education for Mexican American students in Dallas, its lasting impact, and how local organizations are preserving this history for future generations.
This event is presented in conjunction with the Candy Brown Holocaust and Human Rights Educator Series, generously supported by Candy and Ike Brown.

Mental health matters!
“They’ll still say like, ‘Oh my gosh, you’re going to quit again? Or are you going to quit again?’ And like, and ‘If I did, what are you going to do about it? Tweet me some more?’”
It’s been a long road for Simone Biles to make it back to the Olympic stage. And she’s not going to let the haters get to her. She continues to be an advocate for mental health and is inspiring a generation.
This is one of the reasons why NCJW Dallas is trying to nourish both students and teachers from our West Dallas partners.
Australian researchers looked at teacher and student well-being, with a focus on factors that predict greater well-being.
They found that supporting teacher well-being has ramifications for instruction and student well-being. Researcher Rebecca Collie wrote, "Teacher and student functioning are inherently intertwined, so efforts to promote well-being among each party are likely to have carryover effects to the other."
