A real estate legend has left us. So many of us at Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty knew and loved Ellen Terry — who finished her legendary career as an agent here after decades of running her own Dallas brokerage. She was so helpful to others that we named a mentorship award after her — which we still give every year to another deserving helper. Also annually, Ellen threw a holiday brunch at her home just for our brokerage's staff, to thank them for their support all year long.

That's just how she was.

Above all else, Ellen was the mother to our agent Todd Terry - Briggs Freeman Sothebys, who is in our thoughts today, as is everyone in Ellen's family.

Robbie Briggs, our founder, has this to say about his friend:

"She was the true queen of real estate, but so much more. She was full of life, love, wisdom, kindness, positivity, energy, laughter, spirit, hope and a willingness to share it all with everyone. She may have been a tiny physical package but she was bigger than life. She was a lady I will greatly miss. Good night, sweet sister."

She has worked as a licensed agent for the last decade, representing clients all over the metroplex. Fun fact: Deborah now splits her time between Graham, Texas, and Possum Kingdom Lake.

Kandy, also a TCU alum, received her bachelor’s degree in art education. When she decided to pursue a career in real estate, her academic background in art and design translated into a knack for staging and preparing homes for sale. Outside of real estate, Kandy’s professional ventures have ranged from owning an art gallery to teaching public school in her hometown of Graham. Since returning to the Fort Worth area six years ago, Kandy pivoted to working as an agent full-time.

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Chevy completed his undergraduate studies at Texas State and began his post-grad career in Austin. He spent several years in our capital city, gaining valuable real estate experience working in Austin’s competitive market. When he isn’t hard at work, Chevy likes to relax at Possum Kingdom Lake — before returning home to Fort Worth, recharged and ready to take on the next challenge.

With a background in recruiting as well as experience in interior design, Brandie found real estate to be a natural fit. Since obtaining her license in 2022, she has expanded her already-extensive circle of contacts in the DFW metroplex. Fun fact: Brandie and her husband have two children who attend Fort Worth Country Day, where she enjoys volunteering in her spare time.
