Blonde correcting 😬

Starting point: harsh grow out, breakage, some areas were really blonde, others were yellow. There was a big spot bleeder in the back and the whole underneath was natural creating a disconnect in the back.

Goal: Making her blonde even, connecting her blonde to the top, and creating a seamless blend for her color to have longevity.

COLOR CORRECTION 🫶🏼

Hair History:
Got highlights done that resulted in some damaged ends, then she applied a dark red all over

To expose her previous highlights to avoid overlapping I did a color remover prior to her color. I wanted to remove as much red as I could so it can also make my job easier and her next touch up appointment.
I then did a 3 application in 1 which I will be showing on the Patreon, root shadowed then applied a gloss.
Ofcouse I used k18 to maintain her hair is a good state and also cut and inch and a half.

Color Corrections are a high price because of how long it takes to correct your hair and because its tedious work that a lot of stylist will refuse to do because it’s not their cup of tea.

As a client, going into a color correction you have to have patience and know that a lot of times the outcome may not be as light or as perfect as you want it to be, but we can only push the hair as much as it allows us too before it snaps off.

As a stylist accepting a color correction you need to enjoy doing these projects and also have patience. Taking the easy way out will only being you more work for future appointments. Always set realistic expectations with your client and give proper pricing for your time.

And…Yes I’M A WH*r* for color corrections. I enjoy the mental stress because I’m psycho 😂

Canvas: Blonde to Black Box color
July 2023: we did a partial foil level 6 to match her ends where that previous color was. I can’t push her ends because she was blonde before the black color was applied on top.

Yesterday we did a full transformation color barely leaving any hair out of the foils to strip out that box color with a basebump and cut.

Patience is key when coming back from black color specifically when your hair used to be blonde, that damage from the blonde is still under that permanent hair color.

At home care: minimize heat on your tools, use a heat protectant, treat your hair (k18 or olaplex), use a moisturizing mask, use color safe hydrating/repairing shampoo and conditioner.

My guest had done so much at home coloring on top of previous lightened ends.

When i lifted her hair, her mid shaft was still pretty warm gold/ orangy and her ends couldnt be lightened any further, her virging hair lifted PERFECTLY!

This is why being as detailed as you can in my color inquiry form is IMPORTANT.

Yes I do beautiful blondes but in some cases thats not realistic for the firt session and sometimes ever, based on your hair history.

Her hair still looks beautiful and it suits her soo well!! 😍
