Our Story

With their shared passion for entrepreneurship, the founders Ken Le, Trinity Le, and San Huynh launched Zero Degrees Italian Ice & Custard in the fall of 2013, in a sleepy corner of Westminster. Starting out, the family owned business felt the pressure to stand out among the variety of food and drink spots in Orange County. Inspired by the diversity in their own backyard, the owners incorporated local cultures into their menu items. The Chamango, a tropical sorbet bursting with sweet, salty, and spicy flavors was the first drink to put them on the map. The Chamango eventually inspired Zero Degrees Mangonada slush. Then came bolder items like the Ube Milkshake, Pink Lychee and Hot Cheetos Elotes, in addition to popular staples like Vietnamese House Coffee, Thai Milk Tea, and Popcorn chicken. As the menu expanded and demand for this new direction grew, the company was rebranded simply as Zero Degrees. Its name is a reference to the temperature at which water turns to ice, a nod to its origins as an Italian ice shop. Today, Zero Degrees is thriving as one of the most buzzed about Asian-Hispanic fusion cafes with new locations opening up across the country.
