Kakata City Corporation in collaboration with Liberia National Police, has begun clearing makeshift structures erected along the main street of Kakata by street sellers.

Kakata City Corporation embarked on a robust joint cleaning up and demolition of makeshift structures in Kakata.

Local businesswomen have been decisively removing as part of the ongoing exercise to give Kakata a good facelift.

The demolition and clearing up exercise, according to the Authority of the KCC I s aligns with objective $5 of the national ARREST manifestos, which focuses on sanitation.

It adds that a City government shall remove stalls that hinder pedestrian and vehicular movements along major streets.

Objective five of the ARREST framework, in line with the city Ordinance, authorizes the city Government of Kakata to enforce the removal of all lamentable signboards, billboards, and broken-down vehicles from the sidewalk. The Authority asserted.

The ARREST policy also provides for the enforcement of city Ordinances on street sellers and ensures that marketers sell their products only at designated sites.

The city government has assured the public that it would be as consistent as possible with its mandate to discourage street sellers which undercut the beautification of the city and create unnecessary traffic congestion.
