A Prayer For The New Year

God,

Grant that I may pass through the coming year with a faithful heart. There will be much to test me and make weak my strength before the year ends.

In my confusion I shall often say the word that is not true and do the thing of which I am ashamed. There will be errors in the mind and great inaccuracies of judgment.

In seeking the light,
I shall again and again find myself
walking in the darkness.

I shall mistake my light for Your light
and I shall drink from the responsibility of the choice I make...

Though my days be marked with failures, stumblings, fallings, let my spirit be free so that You may take it and redeem my moments in all the ways my needs reveal.

Give me the quiet assurance of Your Love and Presence. Grant that I may pass through the coming year with a faithful heart. Amen

Join us Sunday, August 21st, following service to pray over our land as we plan for the future development of our Children & Youth facilities.

Lord, bless this first day of school!! For those who have already been back, we ask that this week would produce comfort in the new rhythms of the school year.

Protect our students, teachers/faculty, administrators, and staff from hurt, harm, and danger. Keep evil far from them, guard their hearts against unrighteousness, protect their minds from distraction, and anchor their spirits in your word. May they learn to avoid the unwise and foolish. Give them godly friendships. Surround them with those who point them toward the path of positivity and productivity. May they learn to speak life over each other (as soon as they get done roasting each other) and affirm their individual goodness. Protect them at the bus stop, in the school, on the field or court, on field trips, and at home.

Remind them from your scriptures that: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man [all of the good] things which God has prepared for those who love Him (1 Corinthians 2:9).”

Put the hearts of parents at ease. Strengthen them this year. Meet needs. Make ways. Protect. Provide. Lead. Guide. Direct. Help. Bolster, lift, and support them as only you can as they work the ministry of parenthood.

We thank you for our children’s teachers. We pray you would strengthen them to teach, expand their gifts, and give them vision, patience, and an understanding heart. Grace them with power and influence over their classrooms this school year, and beyond.

Bless ALL their going out and coming in..
