Just in time for the holidays! We’re adding two Amtrak Cascades daily roundtrips between Seattle and Portland. It starts Monday, Dec. 11, with new early and late departures, for a total of 12 Amtrak Cascades trains every day between the two most popular cities on the route. Plus, the current 5:30 a.m. northbound train from Eugene will move to a 7:45 a.m. departure and take riders straight through to Seattle with no layover. Get the details and celebrate Amtrak Cascades, like Albany folks did in 1909! https://bit.ly/3RhsDcO

Want to know where all the lobbyists are? It’s the last week of the legislative session (state constitutional limit of 160 days) and the final big budgets are being passed in committee. Here’s a bunch in our meeting this morning, tracking items for their clients-cities and counties, nonprofit organizations, schools, all sorts! 😬

HB 2504 passes! Local Relief Nursery contacted me needing some help, and we figured out a legislative solution. In short, it helps solve a workforce problem so relief nurseries can help kids and families who badly need it. Very well qualified people with degrees in another language couldn't get through the registry and certification system. I'm so pleased that my bill passed the House today! When I pass good legislation like this it’s with help from good colleagues like these.

Library Day in Salem: Oregon Library Association members talked with legislators about school and public libraries. Yes, plenty of people use libraries - and they're a key resource for internet access, too. Later I walked over to the State Library of Oregon to pick out a book to donate to Eugene Public Library and got a donut too (for me)
