Of course, apprenticeship has changed over the years. The National Apprenticeship Act was signed into law in 1937, thus establishing the U.S. Department of Lab Registered Apprenticeship Program that we know today.

Important update regarding Medication Aide:

Effective August 1st, 2021, HHSC will require fingerprint-based criminal history checks on current medication aides renewing their permit and prospective aides before graduating from a training program.
