It has been said that achievement is a direct result of standing on the shoulders of the generation before you. There is no doubt the Oakwood Café Exists today because of Wayne Metcalf. He and his family dedicated their lives to this restaurant and community. He will be sorely missed. Our prayers go out to the family. Little did he know that all those meals to me and my brothers would help continue his legacy. A sad day for us all.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Wayne Metcalf, who lived a wonderful life for 80 years.
