Did you remember our nursing students from the 1970 yearbook? Let’s move forward in time a bit. What year did these juniors celebrate Celebrity Day as the members of Kiss? This was the same year that “dot-com” was a new entry in the American Heritage Dictionary.

An update from France: One of the cultural aspects that Alina is experiencing is the 2-hour lunch break! Some of the places that she went to during her lunch breaks are The Arc de Triomphe, Les Galeries Lafayette (big department stores), the local bakeries, cafes and supermarkets to grab lunch and beautiful parks. Plus, the Eiffel Tower of course. So, even if the school day is longer, there is more time to relax and rejuvenate between morning and afternoon classes!

Diocese of Bridgeport Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steven Cheeseman told students at this weekend’s graduation that they must focus on two words - “carry Christ” - in order to put their faith and all they’ve learned at Immaculate to good use. “We ask you a simple question: what good are you going to do with it?” he challenged graduates. “How will you change the world? How will you make the world a better place?” Read the full article in the Patch here: https://bit.ly/3X83UuL

Sophomore French student Alina Budzynski left this month for France on a three-week exchange program and we can’t wait to hear all about it. Alina can hop on the train from her host family's home and be in Paris in 30 minutes! So far, she's been to Versailles, Le Palais Royal and a local church. She went to a horse race show and she biked to a castle near her host family. She's enjoying the food and Nina's English teacher (in France) is enjoying Alina's presence in class! This is a great opportunity to put her language skills to the test in real world situations. Wishing her the best trip!

Our French 1 and 2 students have been corresponding with students from another catholic school in France! We have a total of 19 French pen pals! This is a GREAT way to practice the languages for both schools!
