We, at Harmi, kept opening, struggling through the slow start-up, hoping things would be better in the future. The customers really gave us a reason to put our hearts and souls into this project. We wanted to create something great for the community and a place we could be proud of building. Eventually, we created a booming business; weekends were crazy full, and we were sold out of most things by the end of the night. This was thanks to our loyal customers, some of whom dined with us 3-4 times a week. Truly great people are everywhere, and we still have faith in humanity. We are good friends with most of them and will continue to appreciate them. We are a simple family that wanted to be involved in this community. We love Darien in general. Thank you for the support; you know who you are.

Moving on from Here

The menu is too complex to just hire anyone to take over. We have to remake the menu again for the third time. Kristi does not have the motivation anymore to do this from scratch. This is beyond unreasonable for anyone. We honestly wanted to make a place where we know it's super clean, and the food is extremely good, showing people that we can pay people well and treat them with respect in the workplace. A place where their ideas and dreams do not die. We know how most of these kitchens operate and the industry as a whole. We kept on fighting for what is right and have done right by others all our lives. Unfortunately, there are snakes in this garden in our la-la land of dreams. Absolutely nothing to do with our customers and business in Darien. It is a really nice place to live and do business. The mayor, city officials, business community, and residents of Darien have been really supportive of our efforts. We can’t continue operating without a partnership deal with head chefs. This is beyond what we can produce in a short period of time.

Ever wondered why our cocktail drinks are so yummy? We have a professional mixologist (friend) on our team helping us create them. Good News, she is willing to come in occasionally for dinner time on random days. She will be here for Tomorrow 9-1-2023 and Saturday 9-2-2023. About 6pm Until 9pm. You can order off menu drinks that she can make on the spot. Shots or cocktails, whatever you prefer. Bringing the city vibes into the suburbs. We highly recommend you guys come out and sit at the bar, you will be in for a treat! Support the cause to put Darien on the Map for food destinations.

The Darien Music Festival is back for its final event of the season this Thursday at Carriage Green Golf Course. Join us for a night of free live music from the band Reckless Chicago, known for their high-energy rock and roll.

The concert will take place this Thursday August 31st from 6pm to 9pm. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks and enjoy a relaxed evening under the stars.

It will be a very nice day out to enjoy this event. We aim to please so we are bringing back Korean Spicy Side Pork Tacos again and 1 or 2 other options. Come hang out for the night.

Darien Music Festival round 2 completed. This was a very successful event and it was a hot day (95 degrees) but it was cool in the shade. Gwen was keeping cool playing with ice and chilling with a personal fan. The awesome Tizzy’s ice cream treats hooked us up with some really great ice cream to stay cool throughout the event, very great people and friendly staff. Concert covers band was amazing, we always enjoyed this local event as residents of Darien and appreciate the opportunity to be vendors of the event as a local business. Our Korean Spicy Pork and Teriyaki Chicken Taco’s was super successful we were sold out for the event. Thank you to everyone for the support. Other noted things was how beautiful the night sky is at Carriage Green Golf Course. If you missed out this round, the last and final event is on August 31st 2023. We will be there to complete this trio of events for the summer. Rolling our sleeves up and back to work for today is Chef Choice Wednesdays. Stop by and grab a bite.

We have upcoming events for starting today with Darien Chamber of Commerce. A few birthdays back to back. We will get our packages ready for view if anyone is interest in booking us as a venue. Well, Good News! We had our very first health department visit. He found it weird that we were excited to see him, it was his first time seeing someone happy to see the health department. :) Honestly we look forward to health department visits, it helps us keep on the right track. Knowing the problems and fixing them right away is always the best solution. We have nothing to hide and we keep our place super clean and well organized. They can step in and check anytime they want to honestly. We are like a military when it comes to procedures and being clean. He is going to come back to eat and will recommend our place to his co-workers to grab a bite. Getting a raving review by them means a great deal. We are striving to make something great in Darien. If the health department dines here, you know you're in good hands! We will maintain these high standards through our operational structure and our triple check policies in place. Thank you everyone for the support, "LETS GO". We had to send you this report card that is extremely BADASS! Being Grateful To Stay Operating:

Everything is going well as expected from some crazy turn of events. The more we think about our previous situation with the business problems mainly CHEF issues we had faced, we appreciate our existing TEAM. This really feels as if there is balance and positive energy in Harmi for the first time ever. The Yin/Yang balance has been achieved. We want to send a thank you to the staff for all their support. We are finally moving forward in a positive direction and how we envision what Harmi could become.

Positive Thinking Creates Positive Results:

Our very first booking for a private event birthday party is confirmed. We would like to host more private parties in the future. We are building packages for Saturday or Sunday Private Events, but we feel it should really be customized. Contact us if you want something done fully custom. We are setting these days for booking times for all private parties big or small. Sections will be designated and attentive staff will be assigned and booze will flow! ;) This will be a wild ride, first experience at Harmi but we have hosted events as professionals from our previous lives. This is awesome to be able to share a special day of someone's life and we are the venue. Time isn’t on our side with life, and to think we have people who want to come and enjoy that time with us. It is simply amazing. We have been on the other side of the coin on this where we had to find venues and accommodations for our wants and needs. This process can be painful. Now on the flipside, we understand the venue side of things with adjustments for staff and so much effort in planning to host. However, we love good parties and private events! It is so true about what they say, “you got to love what you do”. This is very enjoyable for us, to be able to put something on and create memories. Enjoying the moments in life with others! So exciting!
