Effective next Tuesday, June 20, 2022, Yakitori Yuchan restaurant is changing its name to Yuchan Shokudo.

We are still under the same management and will continue to serve the current menu.

However, we are affecting this name change because recent events have made us realize that it is no longer feasible to offer sumiyaki kushiyaki/yakitori (charcoal-grilled skewers) due to ongoing CoVID-related disruptions to the supply, production and world economy.

During this transition, we are working with various vendor partners to unveil a new website, a new Facebook, a revised online ordering system and new signage.

Happy Saturday! According to the weather report, it might actually rain today/tonight and tomorrow! This is much needed good news as Califronia heads into austere water conservation due to drought.

Today's menu is limited because of short-staffing due to CoVID, so the Hiyashi Chuuka / Chilled Ramen Salad will not be available during lunch, and Kakuni / Simmered Pork Belly Blocks won't return until next weekend at the earliest. Sorry!

Bad news, folks: 20% of our staff are now CoVID-positive, so we are VERY short-staffed today. There is a strong possibility that we may close for the rest of the month due to short-staffing, as we cannot operate a restaurant otherwise. I will let you know soon.

It's a HOT Wednesday with highs of 101F today that will feel like 108F at times. Stay hydrated and in the shade whenever possible! We just have to get through today until temperatures drop to the low 80s tomorrow.

Bad News: We're short-staffed due to CoVID infection, so service is going to be slow and some items will be unavailable for the next 10 days or so. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. As infection rates increase across the state, we ask that patrons wear your masks please!

Reminder: Chicken shio ramen is discontinued indefinitely (our main manufacturer no longer produces key ingredients due to CoVID-related problems, and we currently cannot procure alternative ingredients from other manufacturers due to CoVID-related shipping delays). Omu soba is discontinued indefinitely (California's Prop 12 forbids import of raw slaw pork from producers that don't meet California's new farm guidelines, and we our continued understaffing problems means that we cannot adequately support production of this labor-intensive dish).

Kakuni is ready; we've a few Maccha Kanten dessert remaining; and Hakkaisan tokubetsu honjouzou sake is back in stock!

Bad news: We have less than 20x orders of Chicken Shio ramen available for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, CoVID-related shortages have caused one of our manufacturers to halt production of a few core ingredients essential to the soup base. We are researching alternatives with other vendors and manufacturers, but CoVID-related shipping delays are hindering our efforts. So if you want Shio ramen, better get here soon!

We haven't been able to complete one of these posts in a while because it's been so busy! (mostly due to deliveries coming late/not coming at all which negatively impact work flow).
