"Today's Client Showcase features a custom pocket folder that we designed for Generations Christian Church. The staff at Generations needs a multipurpose piece that they could use for internal communications, event promotions, and as an information packet for new members.

The folder included an extra-wide slit in the inside-left pocket that could be used for smaller inserts or physical media items such as music CDs or teaching DVDs, while the right side of the folder's inside featured a specially designed vertical pocket to securely hold documentation and flyers. We created a unique die line for this folder that allowed for more printing and assembly, which meant greater production efficiency and lower costs for our customer.

Today's Client Showcase features a custom 8-page brochure with a heavy stock cover that we created for a design client to present to their client, The Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass ensemble.

This piece is a great example of how a number of custom features and finishes need to be used in a judicious and aesthetic manner to complement, and not overpower, an overall design. We went with a landscape-oriented brochure to express the expansive feel of the brass ensemble, and incorporated strategic placement of spot UV finishes, gold foil stamping, and a raised embass on the cover.

We were also given the opportunity with this piece to perform the print production and assembly, and the finished product really wowed both our client and the band! Today's Client Showcase features a custom pocket folder, which included and eight-page full-color brochure stitched inside. This project was given to us by SeeQuinn Publishing & Design, who asked for our help in constructing this custom piece for their client, the Hackett Miller Company.

This folder/brochure combo served as a media kit to promote a tribute show that highlighted the life and times of one of the 20th century's most iconic comedians, Buddy Hackett. While we've done plenty of folders with stitched-in brochures in the past, this project really stood out due to so many refining touches. The folder used both spot UV application and silver foil accents to give the piece a touch of old-school class, and foil stamping continued on the inside brochure. There was even a custom laser-cut effect applied to the folders pocket that created a unique "filmstrip" effect, complete with sprocket holes.

Today's Client Showcase features a single-panel photo frame for a special event party thrown by one of the biggest production companies in Hollywood, Paramount Pictures.

The studio was looking to have a memorable gift item created for the party's attendees, and they turned to InkRockit for help. Guests left the event with this special keepsake item that would allow them to display and enjoy memories of their time there. Paramount specifically stated that they wanted the frames to be self-standing (perhaps so they could be displayed on a star's mantle next to their Emmy or Oscar?), and that they had a tight production deadline for the night of the party.

While perhaps not as fancy as some of our more elaborate projects, we're proud to say that Paramount was quite pleased with the end result, and even more so with our ability to meet the timeline demands. The show must go on, as they say!

Today's Client Showcase features a minimalist presentation folder for Business Valuations LTD, a client of ours that specializes in evaluating businesses for acquisitions and transitions. As a financial sector enterprise, our client wanted a design that was sleek and understated, but not stodgy.

The design was created for our customer includes matte lamination, silver foil text, and subtle deboss on the front. In addition, this piece needed the capability of holding a large amount of documentation regarding financial reports and other pertinent printed items. So we provided them with a 1/4" box pocket, capable of easily accommodating up to 30 sheets of paper.

Our last innovation for this folder addressed our client's need to have the folder and its contents personalized for each of their clients. So we used a custom die-cut window on the folder front to allow them to place a unique insert for each recipient of their presentations.

Today's Client Showcase features a sleek full-sized pocket folder and a coordinating envelope for Bloom Buisness Jet, a private commercial aviation company.

Bloom was looking to communicate to potential clients that they were a contemporary and trendsetting aviation firm, and needed components for their media kit that were both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. They wanted pieces that didn't look like conventional direct mail while still projecting the classic traits of financial integrity and attentive customer service.

Our design team put together this custom folder with custom pockets, including the vertical pocket on the inside-right, and enhanced aspects of their brand using spot UV finishes, embossing, and silver foil to project the overall aviation branding to new customers. And we continued the refined design theme and spot UV branding on their coordinating oversized envelope.

Today's Client Showcase features a media kit we created for Branson on The Road, a country muisc touring show. This kit was used to showcase the Branson brand, detail the individual performers’s bios, highlight the group’s touring successes, and inform the reader of special upcoming events and performances.

The kit consists of a small pocket folder with an eight-page stitched-in brochure, with all the custom graphics and text components created by our design team. The folder also included pockets for later inserts that highlighted special performance on the tour, along with slits for a business card and music CD. This project provided our client with an elegant solutions for spotlighting their brand, and enticing readers to learn more about the tour and their acts.

Today's Client Showcase features a small presentation folder for the Gnomon School of Visual Effects. This client had a digital 3D model that they needed translated into ink and paper. This project was a wonderfully challenging example of how we use our creative and technical talents to produce truly striking pieces for our customers.

We faced three distinct challenges with this unique folder. The first was imparting a 3-dimensional appearance to the “Lava Man” image on the cover to match the rendered original. Our solution was a sculpted emboss paired with a precisely applied spot UV coating to convey the multiple dimensions of the image.

The second challenge involved the black color on the outside of the folder. Large areas of dark color coverage can be problematic in commercial printing, due to the potential for banding and streaking. Particular attention has to be paid to ensure that the ink maintains a uniform appearance over the entire surface.

The final challenge was the printing on the folder's inside which consisted of a PMS green ink, with a subtle grid pattern embedded within. Any inconsistency would be glaringly obvious, so we planned and executed the production to ensure that the grid pattern remained consistent throughout the entire area of coverage. I’m Cyrus Tucker, Senior Account Manager here at InkRockit, and in the days and weeks to come, we're bringing back some of our past Client Showcases, featuring unique and noteworthy projects for the InkRockit archives, to help you get inspired about ways that we can help your business promote and stand out.

This first showcase is for the mentalist Atlas Brookings, and consists of a folder and envelope duo that we printed for our client who wanted to increase bookings for his show. They supplied us with a press kit design and tasked us with bringing it to life in paper and ink. Although, this was a simple project, it did include a few of unique dimensions that required our skills in paper selection and adjusting the color and graphics for the folder.

The result was a folder that maintained graphical integrity between the outside and inside. You can view the details of how we did this in the accompanying video. This was a fun project for us to produce because of the intriguing subject and the campy graphics. It is also an example of how our attention to detail yields great results for our clients.
