Swing into summer with tennis lessons! The Derbyshire Community Tennis Inc. is offering free youth tennis lessons at Derbyshire Sports Complex, 849 Derbyshire Road for youth 6-18. The lessons are from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. every Tuesday through Aug. 13. To register or become a volunteer, email [email protected] or call (305) 497-2794. On-site registration will be available Tuesday, July 9. The free tennis lessons are sponsored by USTA Florida.

Our wonderful friends The Roberts Family visited us today on behalf of Grace Episcopal Church. They brought wonderful gifts including hand made infant blankets, formula and hygiene products! We are so blessed!

🚨 Free Water Safety Alarms Alert! 🚨
Volusia County is distributing door and pool-motion alarms starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 28th, at the following six locations!

- Daytona Beach Regional Library, 105 Jackie Robinson Parkway
- DeLand Regional Library, 130 E. Howry Ave.
- Deltona Regional Library, 2150 Eustace Ave.
- New Smyrna Beach Regional Library, 1001 S. Dixie Freeway
- Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St.
- Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle

These alarms are designed to enhance water safety for households with kids, including door/window alarms and pool alarms. Each household can get one of each type. You must be 18+, provide proof of Volusia County residency, and complete a simple form. No income requirements! Alarms will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. 🏠🏊‍♂️

There is still time to sign up for swim lessons!!

Swim Lessons are ongoing at the Cypress Aquatic Center, 981 George W. Engram Blvd. Youth ages four and older can learn how to swim Monday through Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. Baby & Me swim lessons are available for babies from six months to three years old from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Saturdays. VoRide, Volusia County's new curb-to-curb rideshare initiative, is now available in the DeLand service region! Start your journey with VoRide today by downloading the app, which is available in both the App Store and Google Play.

Each ride will cost only $2 per passenger, regardless of the time of day in the service region, offering an economical option for riders. This flat rate eliminates worries about peak-time surcharges, making VoRide the budget-friendly choice for everyday travel for work and leisure.

The service will operate on a genuine rideshare model, which might include sharing rides with other passengers. This approach keeps costs low for riders and promotes sustainable transportation. All vehicles will prominently display the VoRide and County logos and will be driven by employees of the County's contractor, Via, who have undergone extensive background and driving record checks.

Additionally, discounted fares are available for children aged 7 to 18, individuals with disabilities, and seniors over 65. Children under 7 can ride for free with a paying guardian. Payments can be made through the app or in cash to the driver; tips will not be accepted.

For travel beyond the DeLand service area, outlined in the app, VoRide will connect riders with Votran buses, ensuring passengers can continue their journey without extra charges in most instances, providing an extended reach beyond the immediate region.

VoRide will be available from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays. The service will not operate on Sundays or holidays. Plans for expansion into the DeBary, Deltona, and Orange City areas in 2024 are already underway.
