Back to school means the district ramping up hiring! Noon-hour supervisors, food service workers, secretaries, bus drivers, teachers, parapros and even skilled tradesmen in training are needed. Positions range from full-time, year round to part-time only on school days. Know a parent or grandparent looking for a few hours of work while the kids are in school? We've got you! Substitutes are also needed for most positions.

We can't wait to see you all soon! Open houses are August 23rd. Check your school blogs to look for the exact time, each school is a little different. The first day of school is August 26th, 2024 and will be a half day.
Kindergarten parents, there is no soft start this year, so your students will be following the same back to school schedule as other students in the district.

We are taking applications for virtual students in first grade through high school from outside of the district through Aug. 26. Interested families should explore the Virtual K-12 website to learn more about the school before enrolling.
Note, we do not plan to offer a virtual kindergarten next year due to low enrollment. Families interested in online kindergarten can contact the school to learn more.

Kindergarten parents - please be aware that Soft Start for your students is canceled this year. Kindergarten students, including Young 5s, will follow the same schedule as other elementary students. That includes a half day on Monday, Aug. 26, and full days Tuesday through Thursday, Aug, 27 to 29.
Schools are closed Aug. 30 to Sept. 2 for Labor Day.
Sept. 3 is the first Early Release Tuesday.
The Early Learning Coalition returns to the Dearborn Summer Market this Friday, Aug. 9. Join us from 3 to 8 p.m. to learn more about our group and enjoy a free, fun activity with your child!

Still need to enroll your child for next school year? Our Student Services Department is open all summer and able to help you enroll your child for fall. We accept all students who live in the district. The Dearborn Schools Virtual 1-12 will also accept other students in Wayne County.
