Annual System Maintenance
September 01 – September 30, 2024

The City of Decatur public water system (PWS) ID 2490005 will temporarily convert the disinfectant used in the distribution system from chloramine to free chlorine. The conversion will begin on September 01, 2024, and continue through September 30, 2024.

A little Parking Perspective… you shouldn’t always expect to park in the front door of the business you want to visit downtown, when you’ll park at the gas pumps at Walmart and walk in.
Walking 1/2 a block downtown isn’t hurting any of us and you’re supporting our local businesses, friends and neighbors that pour back into the community.

INDIGENT HEALTH CARE — Applications for the Wise County Indigent Health Care Program are available at 1101 West Rose Ave. in Decatur or by calling 940-627-4203. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements: residents, household, income and resources. They must also meet the standards set by the State Department of Health Care Services and complete required work registration with the Texas Workforce Commission unless exempt.

These young men are doing a great job selling lemonade on this hot day. We even talked a little about food safety and washing our hands. Stop by their state street lemonade stand and have a cup.

The City of Decatur prohibits the giving away or selling of any type of animal from parking lots, sidewalks, or parkway. If you witness this, contact the Decatur Police Department and an officer will respond. Officers responded numerous times over the weekend and will continue to address these concerns. Citations have been and will continue to be issued for violations.

Our offices will be closed for Memorial Day to honor and remember the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military.

Thank you McCarroll Middle School Avid program and all of the students and teachers for welcoming me back again this year to present at Career day. I'm always impressed with the questions and observations.
