The Imperial
The Imperial is a neighborhood pub, sitting high atop the eastern continental divide in beautiful Oa
URGENT: NOTE THE TIME UPDATE: THE DEBATE IS AT 9, NOT 9:30. THE PARTY RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ERROR HAS BEEN SACKED. THAT IS ALL. As if Taco Tuesday weren't drama enough here, we offer you DJ Blaq Mozart Trivia (in abbreviated form) AND The Battle Of The Century: , La v. Trump. 9:00. We'll bring you every crazy moment, live, in color and loud. But come early to fortify yourself. Grilled Chicken Tacos with Peach Salsa (we know, but they keep having them, so...); Fried Flounder and last week's Popular Veggie Taco: Roasted Cauliflower and Chickpea with Lime Crema. And River & Rose Microgreens. 'Cause they're local. And great. And you'll need sustenance.
How shall we Burger this Monday? With a Fried Green Tomato Burger. A Fried Green Tomato, Caramelized Onions, a Burger Sauce and Swiss make it this week's oh-so-special Monday treat. Enjoy one on The Imperial patio, the bestest place to enjoy this weather in all metro Atlanta. Trivia starts at an alleged 8 pm.
So we hit peak weather this Sunday, in time for one and all to rediscover the patio. By dint of the Sunday Ticket, rediscover whatever team you want to rediscover (but the Braves play too) and thanks to our talented kitchen, enjoy French Dip, Key Lime Pie, Fried Okra…hell, that’s one good meal right there!
The deep, eet ees so Franch. And we know it's a fave, so we bring it back. All that Horseradish-y, Jus-y, Beefy goodness. At Packers-time tonight, we'll also have Bratwurst and Cheese Curds to celebrate that magical moment when The Packers travel to always sunny Philadelphia to take on another green-clad team. Wait...I'm reliably informed that they'll both be traveling to Brazil, for some reason, where they are forbidden to wear green. You know, if they just played in one home town or another...
Jen's Fair Weather House Of Discount Margaritas is back open for business today. With Key Lime Pie also available, it's a Tart Thursday on offer. Balance that out with the sweet richness of caramelized onions hanging out on the Patty Melt and equilibrium is restored.
The ballyhooed temperature drop we've heard so much about lands on Taco Tuesday. Thank you, Taco-loving weather wizard. We will celebrate with Fried Chicken, BBQ Pork and a Roasted Cauliflower and Chickpea Taco with a little Avocado and some Lime Crema. 'Cause we're fantastic, that's why. DJ Blaq Mozart and family set sail for another cruise, so DJ Grey Mozart fills in, doing his best Tuesday Trivia Sub Game. We have fun. We always do. And you can top it off with Key Lime Pie.
Oh, the Labor. You know what we find it? Laborious. Thankfully, many of you are given the opportunity to lay down your burdens on this day and come see us. We will grant you blessed relief, a Patty Melt, a Key Lime Pie, a cool compress for your forehead (on request) beginning at noon and Robert's Trivia at the stroke of 8:20-ish. Also, a triptych portraying the Hay Market Riot. Most of these things are true. Come see which! Pick the sports ball of your choice! We already won the most important one. We been workin.' We been workin' so hard.
Well, it’s that time again: the Bulldogs host Clemson to open (I could have said ‘kick off’ there, but c’mon, man) The End Of Anyone Caring About Baseball season. Noon. Be here. Cheer. Weep. Imagine that fall is in the air.
Jared invented the Chicken Zesty Wrap this week: Grilled Chicken, Lettuce, Onions, fresh lemon juice and Feta. I wanted to call it the Jared Wrap but that suggested we were torturing Jared. Not an appetizing prospect. He did good…it’s great! Atlantic Beach Pie makes an excellent warm weather dessert and Jen’s Discount Margarita Shack, open every Thursday, gives you the perfect beverage to go with. It’s practically tropical today at The Imperial.
Just when we thought Peach Season was over, they drag us back in. Grilled chicken Taco with Peach Salsa makes a happy encore appearance today. Then we’ll offer Fried Fish and cling to our week’s theme of Microgreens to go with Black Beans and Avocado and Cheese to offer a Veg Taco you’ll be pleased to call dinner. Or a part thereof. DJ Blaq Mozart slings his trivia at 8 and Jen will get spicy with the Margaritas. It’s a lovely Tuesday on tap at Ye Olde Imperial…starting at noon.
It's a hippie-dippy dang day here at The Imperial as Quinton brings you the Cali Burger: Sliced avocado, a diced peppers-onions-tomatoes-in-lime juice medley and because we ain't Cali-ed it up enough yet, micro greens. Wear your Birkenstocks for a free hearty handshake. Robert notes that the Atlantic Beach Pie keeps flying out the kitchen, so he's made another. Trivia begins at the beginning. But that's usually by 8:30.
Another lovely day in the neighborhood. Lucky us! We offer you Meatball Subs, Cheap Margaritas, a big 'ol patio awash in early fall-feeling weather (at least later) and our smiling faces. Maybe we'll listen to a speech later. Or maybe Robert will stand on the bar and make one. Can't know unless you're here.
Tacos, Trivia and a break in the weather. How can we miss? Join us for all the above from the patio, unless you're just an Air Conditioning fiend. And there's nothing wrong with that! Fried Chicken, BBQ and Today's Veggie Taco: Black Beans, Avocado, Feta and Micro Greens from our friends at River and Rose Farms. It is a very good Tuesday indeed.
Meatball Sliders....they are our Burger O' The Day. Tivoli Mountain Squeeze is our Imperial Hour IPA of the Day and Atlantic Beach Pie is still available for dessert. Plenty of sustenance to carry you through Robert's trivia, at 8...dull? Whatever the opposite of 8 sharp is.
Though we still hold out hope for the Braves..and 4:30, by the way...we also acknowledge and welcome the first stirrings of football and particularly Packers-mania. Tonight! On the electric television machine! 8:00. We bring the cheese curds, you bring the Green and Gold enthusiasm. Salmon BLT's and Atlantic Beach Pie still available. Go team(s)!
The Salmon BLT makes its way back upriver to The Imperial for the weekend. The Atlantic Beach Pie proved so popular Robert has made another. Have a late summer hurrah with your friends here on the patio.
So this is the rustic dessert I took my best shot at...Atlantic Beach Pie...and the reviews suggest I didn't do too bad. There's some left for you to enjoy after Tacos: Fried Chicken, Fried Flounder and Fried (for health) Zucchini...which, since last week, we've figured out that we should run through an egg wash before the Panko. Well, live and learn. And we have. And you will too, during DJ Blaq Mozart's Trivia, your Tuesday 8 pm appointment fun!
Let's spin a Greatest Hit...the Damn Gouda Burger. Smoked gouda sauce poured on a burger, topped with Bacon, Fried Pickles and Fried Onion Straws. Is it as good as you remember? Better, actually. Robert plans to try his hand at baking this afternoon, while also writing trivia. Take him on around 8, have his dessert to make you feel better!
It's hard to believe 6 weeks have passed so quickly, but the Closing Ceremonies are here. We'll watch at 3. We presume it will end before Monday's Today Show begins. The Salmon BLT is still available, the beer is still cold (no, seriously), the A/C still works.
My, you may say to yourself...they are *lousy* photographers over yonder at The Imperial. It's just that there's so much goodness packed onto that Salmon BLT with Lemon Dill Dressing that it wants to fall apart. But boy howdy, was that photo model ever delicious! We'll offer them all weekend long. And Olympics. We'd say Braves, but that may not be a draw.
Sure, that steady breeze is blowing hot air now, but when the sun sets, it'll be delightful on The Imperial's patio. Swimming pools, movie stars. Or at least Olympics and Braves.
Wednesday's lunch brings you Jami's smiling face, The 'Dain Burger sliders and bottles of wine you can buy with the change from your couch. On second thought, use folding money or a card. But it'll only cost you half what it would the other 6 days of the week!
Taco Tuesday promises to be right pleasant. 91 but with a breeze. And you can have tacos all day, starting at noon! Have 'em for lunch, come back and have more for dinner. We're still finding peaches so Grilled Chicken with Cilantro and Peach Salsa is still on. We'll also have our BBQ Pork Taco and tomorrow's veg option will be Fried Zucchini, with Ranch and Pico right on there. DJ Blaq Mozart's trivia kicks off at 8.
Sliders! We love 'em. This Monday's Burger is The 'Dain. 2 sliders with pickle, onion, Imperial Island dressing and Cheese Wiz©! Wash those down with tears as you play Robert's Trivia at 8 (ish).
It's Kimi's last day of her bus-person's holiday with us at The Imperial. Come wish Kimi bon voyage. Offer available only til close tonight. No rainchecks. Void in California.
The cure for that gross, MOIST enveloped feeling you experience every time you step outside today? The air-conditioned, practically humidity-free Imperial, where good cheer and camaraderie have been sanitized for your protection.
The Greeks remain on our mind during these sporty times, so The Greek Burger it is! Tzatziki, Red Onion, Tomato, Cucumber, Feta. And for the next 10 days, we declare Margaritas to be a traditional Greek drink. If you're wearing a toga, anything is Greek. I mean, it makes you Roman, but why be picky? We're claiming tequila is Greek too. And those Margaritas are always $2 off on Thirsty Thursday!
They look good, don’t they? And at half the usual price, well…
The Olympics and Tacos and Trivia and Spicy Margaritas. Such a Tuesday. The Tacos this week are last week's popular Grilled Chicken with Ga. Peach Salsa and Cilantro, then the perennial fave BBQ Pork and this week's veggie choice, Fried Avocado with Black Beans. Jen decided we'd have a Spicy Margarita special to go with all those tacos. Thanks, Jen! And while watching the synchronized Polluted River Swim, enjoy DJ Blaq Mozart's trivia.
How do we further celebrate the Olympics? With the Greek Burger: Tzatziki, Red Onion/Tomato medley, Feta. Shots of ouzo? We ain't got it. Have a beer and think of ancient Athens. Robert whips out the Olympics of trivia at 8.
